I always thought that the more goods that you bought from Ten Club the better your chances would be. I mean they know how much each of us spend on this site. It's kind of like looking after the people that look after you. All I really buy through the club is tickets so I would assume that my chances would be lowered by that fact. Just my theory.

nah, that theory doesn't hold water either because I have never spent a dime on anything
from the goods section and including last night I have now won the lottery 8 times.

plus the time boom let you sit beside his organ

That's only because I couldn't sit on it.
    Would have muffled the sound.

For me, the lottery is an added bonus. If I win, awesome, but when I don't (and I haven't), that's life. I'm not sad or disappointed. I'm still in the building and that's a lottery win in and of itself, IMHO.

    exactly!

it's like PJ20... i couldn't get 10c tix... but i ended up hooking up with someone who did... so it's a win to just make it in to see PJ

i lost many more lotteries than the pearl jam one ;) it's the excitement of "playing"

although i did see one guy leave the 10c window yesterday PISSED OFF... the lottery gives you butterflies as you wait in line

then reality strikes and it's almost a downer that you didn't win...

still an amazing thing that i applaud the band for doing

and i'm not responding to the boom's organ comment as i truly did not mean it that way... pervs ;)

Agreed, but the site didn't give me that "hey look, someone else posted, so are you sure you still wanna post what you were going to post" message and it went through.

It didn't overlook the 3 embedded quotes on this one though.

Yea, a major glitch with this board.
They really need to fix that.

    It's pretty simple actually.

10club management keeps a close eye on this board and makes notes of all the bitchers, whiners, complainers,
shit disturbers and ungrateful members who believe they are entitled to something more than seeing
the greatest live rock band since I don't know when.

They don't get to win the lottery because they wouldn't be satisfied even if they did.

If that were true, then someone really screwed up over at Ten Club when I won first row back in 2008 after being one of the most vocal anti-lottery people on here at the time.

Of course, since winning, I've never complained about the process on here again. ;)

Well i know this for sure, I was at Toronto 1 waiting for a 10C ticket pick up and a guy came out, talked to a small group of people and handed them tickets saying they wouldnt be disappointed, I know 1 person got row 1 as i saw the ticket so lottery not for every seat that is for sure. . .

I would love seats within the first 5 rowsd let alone first row!

meh what can ya do? I still like 10c seats regardless, no complaints for pj20 :-)

thats exactly how I feel, it's fun to wait in line and think what if....

I think the band should do a lottery on the first 10 rows, give more people a chance to be up close to the band, and get all the stodgy spoiled fans who looked bored cause its their 43rd show a merciless exit away from up close

I like the idea of the lottery... I've been to a ton of shows since they started it and never won once. I don't know how I've never won, but I haven't.

One day I might, but I'm fortunate to have a good TC # as it is so its not like I can complain. Just once though I'd kill to be in the front... Ive always wondered if there's a cutoff where any member under a certain # isn't eligible.

I'd feel like a winner if i got to see the band play again... that's the real lotto, and many people really take it for granted

someone once got bumped from their usual row 6 to row 10 by "winning" the lottery

so i'd say there isn't a cutoff.... although maybe after that situation... they may have implemented a cut off

now you're generalizing about long time fans

i know a few lucky members who are lucky enough to be rows 3 and 4 always and they are not stodgy or spoiled... they're a fan like you... and if you were to meet them you'd not want to displace them

    This answer is actually simple...

If you are/have been a part of any of these things:

Have you complained about any 10C things?
    Are you friends with DS1119?
Has Speedy questioned your opinion on the fact that your favorite color is green?
    Is your avatar questionable?
Is the amount of post you've made in a year more then the gross national product of Guam?

If you answered yes to any of these then when you get tickets your "lottery" position all the sudden gets "circularly" filed.

    :-)
"Honesty will always be construed as negative to a dumbass"
    :-)
  • The answer is even simpler than that:
Have any of you actually asked the 10C how they do it?

The answer I got was quite satisfactory…
