OP: When you ask serious questions, you get serious answers. Playing cut and paste google scholar in an attempt to insult people and thwart real discussion, is just wasting time.

Obviously? What is obvious to you about what I have or haven't read? The only known factor here is that you have some knowledge about one Vonnegut book that you may or may not have read.

    I have said nothing.

    Peace.

no, but maybe that should be your avatar.

i have added to the discussion.

i said the tea party is responsible in part for what has happened. the other responsibilty lies with obama for settling on a stinker of a deal just to pass anything.

Obama did lay a stinker. I agree with you on that.

I did have an avatar pic showing the way I like to abuse Ronald McDonald, but some nice PJ fan reported me and I had to change it....

I see where you're going with that, but equating this one to the use of the "N-Word" is ridiculous. (And a HUGE stretch)

AGAIN. Derogatory terms are not acceptable in these forums. Do a search of your friendly neighborhood moderator's posts for today and see what was said if you missed seeing it on the locked thread.

DO NOT use derogatory terms here. Teabagger is derogatory and adds nothing to the discussion and it doesn't matter if some called themselves that before they knew what it meant. Tea Party members are insulted by it and so you can't do it.

to do this we first have to define how we want to see America. what values do we want America to have? i personally think that this is the reason why we can't answer that questions.

Do you think you're more intelligent that others on here, like myself, that side more with an ideology that opposes increasing the government's size? If so, please tell me why.

  • And while the Tea People whine about a name they used first and then decided was embarrassing... they've managed to rev up the phony indignation machine.

    And derail the thread.

And refuse to answer any real questions.

No... the tea party is NOT responsible for this mess. That's the fault of George W Bush and his cronies.

The Tea Party, however, have stated that their main purpose is to ruin the country and take down the president. Kind of economic terrorism from within. So the Tea Party can be blamed for the complete lack of attention paid to the problem.

Much like this thread... complaining about a name and avoiding the issues.

isn't wanting to purposely crash the economy or purposely damage your own country for political reasons and undermine your government a form of treason?

Where? I don't see it. This answers that you consider yourself more intelligent than someone, such as myself, who doesn't think enlarging government is a "good"? Please explain. I don't see,... maybe because I'm stupid.

i don't think any of this is a debate about your intelligence. you think your philosophy is right, i think mine is right and we will see on election day. i just happen to think that the republican platform and their positions on almost every issue is wrong...

Let's see... phony indignation ("you're calling me STUPID!!"), derailing the thread ("This is about ENLARGING THE GOVERNMENT" - and no, it's not) and refusing the answer any of the topics... just playing like you don't understand the questions.

    So... there you go.

I respect that. But, honestly, I suggest you look at your "side of the issue" on here. Particularly a few, including the one I quoted - for instance, that individually clearly thinks they "are more intelligent" than tea party supporters. That's ridiculous. That person doesn't know how intelligent tea party supporters are.

P.S. I agree. I think that someone could be way more intelligent than myself and see the world through a different viewpoint. That doesn't mean I think they are right on the issue. It means, I'm not insulting intelligence. Trying to say anyone who disagrees with me regarding polarizing issues, "is stupid"... shows a lack of intelligence ( or at least the lack of an open mind ) in the accuser in my opinion.

I believe that I'm more intelligent than the vast majority of people attending Tea Party rallies. And I believe that, for the most part, those same people attending the rallies don't actually know what they believe in.

I would put heavy money on the fact that an average person at that rally is more intelligent than you are. From what I've seen, you've shown absolutely no intelligence in any of your points thus far. What I've seen is an instigator, with limited intelligence. I may be wrong, but instigating here... does little to nothing. If you have a point to debate.... do it, but trying to spark debates about the intelligence of a group of people is silly.

i said it is not about intelligence, but since you asked, yes i do believe that i am more intelligent in some areas than your average person attending a tea party rally, especially those with the signs. i've got a master's degree and i can say that based on those tea partiers that i know personally most of them barely finished high school and have dead end jobs, but boy do they love glen beck and feel sorry for those billionaires who are so heavily taxed....

it is not about intelligence, it is about perspective, and it is about ethics and right and wrong and being well informed. i am not well informed on everything, does that make me a dumbshit? no it doesn't. i can hold my own on most topics on this forum and i can guarantee that the people in those pictures are not well informed. read what they wrote and the sheer ignorance in their signs. they know just enough about the issues to make them dangerous.
