WHY!? dont people like riot act?

Riot Act is an immense album that gets better each year. People that don't like Riot Act just don't like it yet! The production is in my opinion the best of all PJ albums. There is only one album as good through headphones and that is Binaural. I honestly don't think there is a bad song on it. Probably a top five for me but Vitalogy will always be my number one just ahead of No Code. Riot Act and Vs are amazing albums to have in the car as are Backspacer and Yield.Like a book among the many on a shelf...

I don't understand. How is it cool to say No Code or Yield is your favourite? Who thinks like this?! Where's Ten on the cool list? Or Vitalogy? I have no idea.
Riot Act has some great songs, but a lot of them just aren't the same standard as songs on previous albums....imo. Not saying they are "bad". I love a lot of them live. But they're just not as good. I've got Riot Act in the car at the moment. Haven't listened to the album in ages and I'm thoroughly enjoying it again....bit it's got nothing on No Code or Yield. The good majority of those songs are fucking genius.
Ten is my favorite,vs next,Binaural 3rd..
I’m always really surprised how many people say that No Code is their favourite! I remember when it first came out I thought 'What the fuck is this?' It's since grown me, but with Riot Act I loved it straight away and (along with Vs) is my favourite album…It just has such a great atmosphere to it!0 -

Agree. With all of the above ^^ . Well, except maybe that No Code is #5 for me

i think has to do with people age at the forum ..alot of people was so young during ten-vs-vitalogy era.and start listen pj when no code released..ZiggyStar wrote:[
Maybe people really think that no Code and Yield are favourites though?
Do you really think people on this forum say albums that aren't their favourites and say No Code and Yield to be cool? hahahaha That's fucking hilarious if that shit is going on!
I remember reading an interview with eddie, either 1991 0r 92, where he said that they had a 3 album plan,
1st was to get you interested, 2nd was to get you hooked, and the 3rd was to blow you away... i'm guessing for the most part it worked

One of the highlights of the PJ museum for me was getting to see those tiny skeleton figurines that they used on the cover of Riot Act.

WHY?!?!? Well for starters, Can't Keep and You Are are probably two of their worst songs in their history..and they happen to be on the same album-
Backspacer blows Riot Act away!!!!! Unthought Known, Supersonic, Amongst the Waves!!!??? C'mon Man!!!
I'll give you I am Mine though- wish the rest of it sounded like that!AbsoLutAngel wrote:dude

Riot Act is just kinda, well....yucky. I won't ever forget the tour though cuz I saw them in New Orleans for it, but, still. (and I got a great poster with a story attached, but that's another day). But the album, nah. I could live without it. In fact, I think that's the only PJ album that I don't have.0 -

hey, gimme some of the pot you smoked
to each their own, in rioct act there are many songs that I consider to be their best ever.. can't keep studio version is mind blowing and you are is a masterpiece.. then save you, i am mine, green disease, 1/2 full (live it's probably the best song in thei catalogue), bushleaguer.. shit, I love all the album.. what I have in the signature is one of the top five PJ songs of the past decade, along with sleight of hand..
Now, if you want the worst song of thei history, go listen to Olé..0 -

Not in a million years is Supersonic better than Can't Keep or You Are.
Surely you mean Supersonic is one of their worst songs?2000: Manchester

I agree 100%
Ole blows supersonic outta the water.
Least fav pj songs of all time; supersonic & hitchiker.0 -
Riot Act is probably my second favorite PJ album after vs. Thought, it wasn't until started to collect the bootlegs that I really started to appreciate it. The album versions of the songs are great but the live performances of LBC (always though this would make a great opener), Save You, Can't Keep (especially the Benaroya Hall version), You Are, and 1/2 Full just kill. I've only seen them play 1/2 Full live in person and it was crazy awesome.
While I agree with statements that this album is musically all over the place.. it's a rockin' album full a killer tacks from the band.08-21-2009 Toronto

When are people going to realise that music is subjective?? We all have different tastes in music....
That being said, Riot Act does, always has, and always will SUCK, lolAnother habit says it's in love with you
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self0 -
its a good record, ed just sounds so monotone and uninspired across most of it.{if (work != 0) {
