Pearl Jam is set to release the documentary Pearl Jam Twenty worldwide on September 20th in select theaters for one night only, with a full week run of the film beginning Friday, September 23rd in key markets. The film will be shown at the highest caliber of theaters in select cities in the U.S. and internationally. For the latest update of theaters and cities showing Pearl Jam Twenty, visit http://www.PJ20.com.
So... I have to ask... and this isn't too bitch or moan, but I need to know what led to this selection of theaters....
You state the "highest caliber of theaters" but when I look at the website I see that you're showing this movie at River Oaks Theater in Houston.... thank you for having a showing in this city, first of all.....
But... you're calling River Oaks Theater the Highest caliber? I realize no one associated with this band has been in Houston for 8+ years, but River Oaks Theater is not the highest caliber. It is a throwback theater that has not been renovated since sometime in the 1950's. While you're watching a movie you can actually hear the other movies going on around you... and I don't mean muffled, I mean you can hear the whole movie!
I go to a lot of movies and I've been to pretty much every other movie theater in Houston (and there's a shitload of them)... and River Oaks Theater is prehaps the worst in terms of picture and sound quality. I get that Pearl Jam is choosing this theater due to it's throw back qualities (I mean everything in the place is old school and it's neat to see once or twice).... but don't serve me a shit-sandwich and tell me that it's going to be delicious. There are so many other theaters in Houston that have new sound systems and digital projectors and the like.....
Please don't refer to the crappiest theater in town (in terms of projection and sound) and tell me you've picked the highest of caliber.
Anyway, I've said my piece... see everyone there! I live right around the corner from the place... pre-party at Sherlocks on W Grey, or the Tavern beforehand? Anyone in Houston wants to organize something send me a PM and we'll par-tay!Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

Bummer that it looks like the movie won't play anywhere within 7 or 8 hours of me in September, but I'll catch it on PBS.

The soundtrack and book look awesome! I love the PJ20 imagery.0 -
Hopefully it will be available @ all http://www.empiretheatres.com/ theatres here in Atlantic Canada.
