lets say it's a 15 foot tall, cement fence. gonna be tough to punch a hole in it.

no, not really. It's not that hard to punch a hole through a concrete wall. Besides, 15 feet isn't that high. How will you prevent people from simply climbing over?

make it 20 then or put 8 foot bars on top if it.

assuming you have motion detecotrs, it's gonna be tough to punch a hole in it.

Patriotic white christian Americans can shoot them with their big shiny American guns, as they come over the other side.

and what happens when an animal sets off the motion detectors? For that matter, what happens when a person sets off the motion detectors? And what about just tunneling UNDER the fence? we've already seen drug smugglers effectively use tunnels.

motion dectors with camera's, or just camera's every 100 yards or so.

the under part is the tough part. you would obviously want to sink the fence as far as possible, but unless you hit bedrock, you will have potential problems.

at the end of the day, i suspect people would just try and go around it via a water crossing.

are those motion detectors powered by batteries or what...? who's going to be monitoring them...?

This fence should be pretty badass...when will it be done...?

water crossing...? are the building a moat, too...?

    super badass, indeed...

Unfortunately, no matter what one's thoughts and feeling are about the immigration issue, political boundaries most often ignore natural boundaries and ecosystems. A fence that long will be disastrous to species migration. Several years ago, Yvon Chouinard (amongst other) pointed out that if we totally wreck our environment and don't settle the environmental issues we face there will be no social issues to settle. An anthropocentric view of our world will be our downfall.

I welcome any and all people who truly want to come here and make a living.

I think our immigration policies should be relaxed tremendously.

People are people. They should be able to go and make a living wherever they choose.

Sure. Let them check in and sign something at the border stating they want to be a citizen.

how do you get them to a check in location vs. just walking on in?

    really?

imo that's the real issue. you don't we should try and do back ground checks on people moving in to the US? it's ok to let known murders, killers, child moelesters in, no questions asked?

yes, sadly, we have plenty home grown ciminals. I don't see the need to add more if you can stop it.

you could make an arguement that yes they do check on those people, at least the sex offender people by requiring them to be on a registry.

it's not about being brave, it's about limiting exposure.
