I just got a fanview voicemessage I thought I'd share.

Hey, uh, just givin' you a voicemail update. Um, heh heh. "Barry" checked it this morning. People are waitin' for us. Ha Ha. I guess we've incited a riot of sorts. Um, yeah, last nyt was just, ya know, set list aside, which was probably, ya know, it was, ya know, an 8 or 9 or something....It was good.

The crowd, yeah, we, it was, it was actually a top. It felt like a Pearl Jam show. It was, it was completely bonkers dude. The crowd was...it was nyt and day. It's like, if they would have been like that on fuckin' Friday I would have been fine. But last nyt was, it was nuts. Yeah, end of the tour feeling to it, um, on top of that ya know, also, probably, Vedders not doin' solo for years, easy, it'll be years.

N then "Larry" just left to catch a ferry over to Vic/Sydney, 'cause uh, he's meeting "Kerry" and didn't have his passport, so he didn't, so he's stuck here now. He can't meet "Kerry and Jerry" in Sydney 'cause he didn't have his passport. So he's got to get it fed ex, sent here or somethin'. So he's stuck up here for, it's kinda classic, he's stuck up here for a couple days. He's kinda distraught over it b/c he's supposed to be on the ferry to meet "Kerry and Jerry" around 6 or 7 tonight and now he's calling 'em. Literally, he's on the phone right now, tellin' 'em he's a loser and he didn't bring his passport and he won't be there for a couple more days and it's kind of, looks... he feels bad, he feels like a loser and shit. But anyways, he tried ya know, he woulda made it, but, ya know, he doesn't have his passport so he's fucked.

So...I might stay in Seattle one more nyt, 'cause fuckin', if he's stuck, I don't want to bail on him and "Barry" has, ya know, he's here, and uh, Stooges are in the house.

But, uh, yeah, last nyt was alltime. Um, still not my favorite but the energy was, it was, it blew doors, it blew the roof off the motha suka. It delivered. So, uh, I got you and "Mary" a couple posters, um, some other things. I, uh, spent like $500 on goods last nyt. Just, I figured they're gifts, ya know, I might as well load up. So I got some shit dude, you want something hit me up when you get a chance.
    later.

amazing show, I've been to 12 of eV's solo shows, at least 2 for each of his five tours/legs. This one was by far the most intimate, I think I attribute this to the stories. Glen's story of how he came to know eV was amazing, eV's legend, or in his case, reality of who he is, continues to show a very special person. Going out of his way to call someone he doesn't know, and offer's his experience and ear, was pretty cool. The vespa corduroy jacket story was an amazing tie in later, the odds, wow this world is so small to be so large, and eV's story about coming back from Europe and finding out about Stephanie's passing when landing, and the girls in discovery park singing rock songs opera style, including black, and his brief appearance and request, etc... was great. Berkeley II was another great story show, and I'm sure plenty of others I didn't see, but I'll always remember tonight.
Music was amazing, was 1st row, 3rd tier, and the acoustic/accapella sleepless nights was wonderful to hear from up there. always feel privileged to see eV's solo shows.
"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)

so completely brilliant to have ed tell that story onstage..meetin him was the coolest moment of my entire life at that point ... to meet him again and him still have my jacket...unreal..

he's a gentleman and a huge light that we're lucky to have in our lives.

Are you Glen's cousin then? In that case, you should tell Glen to consider Ed's recommendation to move to Seattle. My friend that I took to see night 1 absolutely adores Glen and his music, and we'd love to see more of him around here in Seattle. Not to mention some more Ed and Glen duets.

I am way too tired to write a review of this, but I'll just say that it was absolutely breathtaking, and even though the crowd messed up the "Oh"s after the first verse of porch, it was full of great performances (Immortality was indeed played, and was incredible). Great storytelling, great performances, great setlist.

The best part, though, was briefly getting to meet Eddie after the show, around 1:40 AM. Was anyone else there?

I was there! Eddie was so kind and gracious. It was profound for me to be able to thank him. When someone creates something that changes the entire course of your life, you want to tell them and thank them. There exists this major disconnect when you aren't able to do that. I finally got that chance and it makes me feel at peace with so many things in my life. I'll never forget it.

It was also so awesome that the little crowd we were in was so respectful and had such a good vibe. I wish my friend and I had hung out with you all near the door. We got there pretty late and waited on the corner across the street. It seemed like a great group of people. Thanks for sharing the moment!

    Most Sincerely,
    Tawnya

Can't believe the show. I had heard how good Glen was, but he blew me away. His set and stories were amazing. The journey to see Ed solo was long but he didn't let us down. So many highlights I can't list them all, especially since most have already been said. It truly was a great experience. The atmosphere of the show was great. I think the best part may be my great wife who puts up with my near obsessive/compulsive pearl jam disorder. She got me the tickets and now I find that she sings with as many songs as i do. Can't wait for Vancouver.

    My thank you notes.....

    1) Thank you Glen....yes i know you were going to be awesome, but was still blown away by your just overall passion for music and performing and amazingly emotionally charged songs. You remind me of how great life is and how good we should all be.

    2) Thank you Eddie...what can i say...you, as always, made me laugh and sing, smile and just feel good about being alive and of course loving my time in Seattle. I think Glen is on his way or has learned so much from you in the past year or so about how such an amazingly great human being you are...thank you for doing two shows... (see number 5 ;) )

    3) Thank you to the Seattle crowd...thanks for being so respectful and QUIET as mice at the right times

    4) Thank you Benaroya...for being strict with the no beverages in the seats...made for an enjoyable, respectful, laid back crowd ;)

    5) and finally THANK YOU to my date...i met a pj guy on the dating service thread and night two was our first date. I posted about 1 month ago and got an email about his post. it was his 3rd post ever....I have had such an amazing weekend (and extended it by one day). We planned night 2 to be our first date, but ended up going on about 15! (the locks, mariners game, pre party x 2, post party x 1, movie, breakfast, lunch, ballard market, dinner, etc. etc.) thank you pearlswirl! :D

    Incredible.

My brother and I were there by ourselves as a gift from our dear ladies. Seeing Eddie in this venue has been my brothers lifelong dream and I was honoured to be a part of his moment. The setlist speaks for itself, and the duet with Glen Hansard for Falling Slowly was stellar, the greatest duet I think I have ever seen (and I loved it in Portland). Lukin was emotion. Seeeing Immortality again after Portland was incredible, Ive only seen it once before and now twice in a week. The mohawk was still out of place (saving for PJ proper I think next time hahaha) but not as bad, had a few amusing conversations with peope about it.

EPIC!! Everything from the stories, to the crowd (loved the way EV responded) and the amazing duets with GH. Soul touchingly beautiful. It was the kind of event you felt lucky to have been a part of. Only downside - no love for Vancouver!! :(

First row up on the 3rd tier was frightening though

    I was at both.

MSG was definitely better. It is more unexpected in the rock concert setting. It also took everyone a minute to figure out what the hell was going on and then went nuts.

At least my experience at Benaroya was I knew what was happening at or before he even started.

I also cant put my finger on it, the sound is so amazing at Benaroya.... but the words came across much clearer at MSG.

    Sounds like a great show.

The confusion may come from the fact that Glen has been introducing it at the shows as Kat/Sea have set out -ie he's been saying this song is called 'Maybe I was Born to Hold You In these Arms'.

I think we can let Kat/Sea slide on that one in this case ;)

Although anyone looking to find it should look for 'In These Arms' by The Swell Season :D

Amazing show, felt like it was never going to end. it was a long one. coolest story ever was the bushes story and the operatic teenagers. follow that up with needle, into long road, and damn that was great.

very cool to see Glen's cousin is actually on the board and still lovin pj. I hope/pray that a bootleg surfaces of the show, so you can hear the story told by Ed. It was amazing. Good on ya!

I remember the story. I think I read it in a Rolling Stone article when I was getting in to them. Likely around 93.

I normally don't write a review, but I'll write one here, it was a special show.

From the moment Ed took the stage you knew it was gonna be a good. Normally a rockin' version of Can't Keep is rare, but even more rare when it's being played on the Uke!

Ed blasted through the Uke part of the set in full force, powerfully yet with much precision and passion.

Like others have said the story about Stephanie Sargent was great and was great story that lead into one of the best parts of the set, Needle and the Damage Done --> I am Mine

I was stoked to hear No Ceiling. I don't believe I heard that on the previous ITW tour.

Slow Lukin and Unthought Known were both amazing. It was great to be able to hear the rare Slow Lukin version.

Encore 1 was incredible. I got to hear one of my all time favorite songs, Immortality. But the song that is still stuck in my head was Sleepless Nights (Busker style) it was so amazing to see them hit every note perfectly.

Then to start the final encore with RITFW was special and I knew everyone at Benaroya would appreciate it.

Also would like to thank my GF's uncle and girlfriend who hooked us up with amazing tickets through their Benaroya hookup, 5th row dead center. It was their first Ed or Pearl Jam show and they couldn't stop talking about it the next day.

I'll be thinking about this show for a while, at least until Vancouver

Amazing show by Ed & Glen! Ed really outdid himself from the night before! Long Road & Immortality were 2 of my favorites.

Am I the only one who thinks there were more douchebags in the crowd for the 2nd night?!?! I mean the one guy who kept yelling for Daughter & others yelling for songs prompting Ed to stop 3 times- one time saying 'Fuck you? Is that what you're yelling at me?' And then, 'I guess this is what it's like when my kids ignore when we tell them what to do'. And to the Daughter guy finally,'uh, I didn't write that one.' One of his stories was interrupted once by yelling & even after asking people not to, flashes still went off for the entire show. I felt bad for Ed- definitely seemed frustrated with the crowd at times. I loved the show as far as what Ed did, but was embarrassed to be in the crowd of some douchebags. Just my 2 cents.

That was the only guy bugging me at all. He was a total DB, I think 2nd row on the front left center of the stage. I didn't notice many flashes, but I was in a zone and focused on the stage.
