Im not going to Boston on a Tuesday, and the MPP date is the same day as Fleet Foxes, which I already have tix for. Oh well...glad I saw them last year at The Bushnell when it was "An Evening With Wilco". 3.5hrs straight through, no set breaks...its not gonna get any better than that anyways. Maybe next time around

NYC is a huge pain in the arse for me. Boston is way easier. Its all good. All other Wilco shows for me are going to be compared to that epic night at The Bushnell in April 2010...and no Wilco show will ever live up to that. I'll catch them next time around... Hopefully they tour in 2012...after Ive had plenty of time to digest the new CD. Plus...I prefer seeing a band that has so much great material, on a tour that is not related to a new album release. Then they bust out some real gems.

Love the new song. Sounds like they're getting weird again.
I hope. The last two albums were boring.
Yeah, after hitting two grand slams in a row with YHF and A Ghost is Born they were ready for the inevitable letdown. At least they're not content sounding the same. The best bands change it up regularly. I still loved their last two albums, but I'm ready for a less structured album again.
The Whole Love, Wilco's eighth studio album and the first full-length release on their dBpm Records label, is available for preorder now. Recorded at The Loft in Chicago, The Whole Love boasts 12 new original songs and was produced by Jeff Tweedy with Patrick Sansone and Tom Schick.
To complicate your choices, the album is available in 4 different versions (yes, we sometimes yearn for simpler times, too). Here they are:
vinyl: an audiophile, 180-gram double gatefold edition (includes a cd version of the album).
standard cd: vinyl-style package with gatefold and cardboard wrap and includes a cd wallet and booklet.
deluxe cd version: a box with 2 discs in oversized cd wallets and a 52 page booklet. The disc includes four bonus tracks
digital: available in high quality 320kbps mp3 and FLAC formats
All that plus bundles that include an exclusive shirt (both guys and girls sizes available), ltd. ed. turntable slip mat, sticker, a yo-yo, and more.
On top of all that, every pre-order comes with an instant download of the album track "I Might" plus a download of the complete album on release day (Sept. 27th). As icing on the proverbial cake, during the 9 weeks of our preorder, we'll do three drawings each week. That's 27 prizes including a one-of-a-kind, fixed speed Wilco Bicycle (hand-assembled in Chicago), a vintage Polaroid camera with some photos taken by the band, extremely ltd. vinyl test pressings, and 24 other prizes listed on the contest page. As they say on TV, the sooner you pre-order, the more chances you have to win.
Alright, that's it for this week's sales pitch -- we're getting our record co. chops down day by day. Back to taking orders.
See you soon.

I just find it hard to justify buying vinyl from a lot of these bands due to the high shipping costs. I think for Wilco the cheapest option was $11.00 and MMJ - Circuital was closer to $15. No thanks.

It looks like you can still enter the contest without pre-ordering the new album. Just have to send a postcard each week with you info to enter. 8 Postcards + postage adds up. Kind of justifies ordering the album through Wilco because they automatically enter you in the prize drawings.
And that Yo-Yo is actually pretty cool. I haven't had one in years.
