The poster is mad & rightfully so. So do you have anything else to contribute to the discussion, Kat? Like maybe, "We're very sorry this happened. 10club staff is looking into it to find out what happened & see that is doesn't happen again." Oh I don't know, maybe something along those lines.

& To those who are complaining about people "bitching." We are told we are getting a certain something & have every right to be upset or disappointed when we don't receive it. We'll see how unnecessary or whatever complaining is when it happens to you. :)

I wouldn't have cared so much if I was going to or went to another show on this tour, but last night was my only show and for that f-up to happen is just disappointing. We were all more disappointed more than mad. we made the best of it, but still going to voice our displeasure today.

Unbelievable, why all the bitching. You were lucky enough to see the greatest band on Earth! Being stuck in Colorado with no show in sight I can't believe all the complaining. If I were lucky enough to be at any of these amazing shows on this short epic tour the Ten Club could give me a ticket that said "rope hanging from the rafters towards the back with one knot to hold onto for three hours" The rope and I would make the best of the show and you would hear nothing but gratitude.

If I had something to explain at this time, don't you think I'd do so? The Ten Club cares very much when there are problems. They work VERY hard to see that things go smoothly. I don't know what happened with this event but I know they are working on it and are sorry for any problems.

The poster is upset but still doesn't have the right to name-call anyone. I didn't ban him and could have...might still if things don't improve. Tim is banned for name-calling right now and understands the rules; is this poster above the Posting Guidelines? No. And rolling your eyes at me isn't helping anything.

Thank you for your understanding. No one is out to screw anyone.

glad to hear that it is being looked into. thats pretty much all that can be done right now in the middle of a tour. hopefully improvements will be made for the next time around.

Ok, so the "nitwit" remark was a bit uncalled for, but at the same time, I think the fact this person was extremely upset should be taken into account. I didn't say you had any answers at this time. But what you stated above could have easily been stated in your original response.

& lol, that Tim got banned for name calling, that's classic. The whole no "name-calling" thing is a bit excessive & childish anyway...especially when everyone is on the board of a band they love that encourages free speech, but I digress. Have a lovely day. :D

    Holy shit.

Is no one on here cool?

People need to lay off the people who are "rightfully" upset.

And then LAY OFF THE FUCKING TEN CLUB!!!!!

My Apologizes to the Ten Club staff. It was uncalled for to call you names. I appreciate the job you do and am glad you are looking into the situation from last night. It is just frustrating to know people with less seniority were closer, considering this was a seniority based show. Look forward to hearing any explanation you can give.

how can you steal the lottery winner's tix? I won in VA beach (2nd row) and I had to sign for my tix. My name and 10club number were printed on the envelope. I was so happy, I had trouble signing my name, plus something was in the way of the envelope.

Another thing to consider that makes 2008 different from 2003 and earlier is that the ticket scalping industry has gone into hyerdrive. Not only have more and more "ticket brokers" been popping up, they now have many more advanced tools at their disposal to try and rope in as many tickets as they can. The ticket broker industry is also being legitimized by Ticketmaster's TicketExchange and Stub Hub, making what was once mostly a fringe market into a main source for ticketing.

This is big business now and it is truly not a fair playing ground at all. ESPECIALLY for fan clubs like Ten Club that are 100% independently run by the artist and not by a department of a record label or another major corporation like LiveNation. It is pretty much guaranteed that if this fan club was run by one of the many corporate "fan club" companies out there then the ticketing scenario would be much worse. It's a real uphill battle for an organization like Ten Club and Pearl Jam.

Madonna is setting a new standard with Stub Hub on her upcoming tour where she is getting a cut of all the transactions made on their site for her tour. And she's pitching it to her fans like "Didn't get tickets the first time? No problem! Come to Stub Hub!" putting her stamp of approval on exploitation and gouging. In fact, it is in her interest to promote scalping on Stub Hub because she gets paid on the initial sale AND the resell.

My point is that when all is said and done, Ten Club is really doing a great job for an independent, 100% artist owned and operated fan organization. They are fighting against a system that couldn't care less about fans and they are doing the best they can. Even when things don't go perfectly, I honestly feel that Ten Club really does care and they have made the effort.

I hear your disappointments and I understand where you are coming from, but you have to admit it could be a whole lot worse. I just hope we can consider all of this before we go calling them names and putting them down so quickly.

    Seems pretty easy to me.

You work at will call. You see front row seats. You take them out of the envelope. You put crappier tickets in said envelope. You sell front row seats to your scalper buddy for a premium.

    Voila.

haha whats so hard about that eh? people are naive in this world

as long as NON- 10c people are handling these tickets shit will be messed with ,,,simple... period .... end of story ITS LIFE
  • This whole story sucks, and I feel bad for the original poster. However ...

I'm old enough to remember a time when it was difficult to get a ticket -- any ticket -- to see Pearl Jam play. I remember having to line up 10 of my friends on a Sunday morning to call this damn phone number and get a busy signal over ... and over ... and over ... until we got through. Well, only one of us did. It was me. I bought the maximum four tickets, and six of my friends were screwed. Left out in the cold.

We wouldn't have cared where our seats were. We just wanted to be in the building.

That kind of experience has stuck with me over the years. I don't go into any show *hoping* for anything. I just take what I get, am happy to be in the building, and I'm never disappointed. Sometimes, however, I am pleasantly surprised.

    It works for me, anyway.

well said, thats how i look at it as well, just get me in the fuckin building, i just want to hear the music. seeing isn't everything unless you are in the 1st few rows, other than that i could give a shit where i sit

What ever happened to people directly contacting someone else to smooth out a problem, as opposed to flogging them on a message board?

I know that people get frustrated when things don't go as expected, but do they really think that being bitchy is really going to help their cause?

sliteofjeff, I'm so old, I remember standing in line that wrapped around the building to buy tickets through TM to only get to the window to have them say SOLD OUT.
