The GOP claims they want the government out of the lives of citizens, so why do you want the government to be morality police on issues like gay marriage? Two gay guys getting married hurts nobody and does not effect you or I in any way, shape, or form and could make two people very happy. Why is there a problem with it?
I know Gimmie, I was wearing a shirt that was 50 % linen and 50% wool and I will be damned if God didn't remind me I was breaking a rule...you know...the rule about not wearing clothes made from more than one fabric...that is in leviticus where it talks about homosexuality...seriously...get the fuck over it...two guys or girls can love each other and it affects other people a grand total of 0%...that is unless other people enjoy seeing committed couples...then it affects them positively...
I don't like attacking religion and I am not trying to do that here, but come on, why out of all those rules is the homosexual "rule" the one that needs to be followed...if all the many others from Leviticus are seen as unnecessary now, why did that one stay?
you have the choice to follow or not to follow that's totaly up to you, if you are a believer than that is something you will have to deal with between you and God and if you are not a beleiver then why do you let these "rules"in the Bible make you angry, is there something in your heart that that the world won't let you share (no I'm not calling you gay) just wondering why all the anger...if that was anger.

Perry only says what Perry needs to say at the given moment. Just like any other politician. He also wanted to require all girls over age 11 I think it was, to get the HPV immunization shot. He also wanted to confiscate millions of acres of land and establish the Trans-Texas Corridor, and the entire thing would have been owned and managed by some Spanish corporation that he was getting a kickback from. He was shot down on both accounts. He's as big a crook as they come, and I'll vote for Obama, get a fake ID and vote for him again before I ever voted for Perry and I'm probably one of the more conservative people on this board.0

I am calling it now. I'm on the record.
Many of you will disagree.
But when it happens, I will only accept notarized apologies in written form.

They are not LEGAL rights.
The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law in 1996 by President BILL CLINTON.
The notion that Obama's Justice Dept has decided to stop upholding the laws of this nation is arguably an impeachable offense.
No? Before you lose your liberal wad, consider this: How would you feel if George Bush had just "decided" that his admin/Justice Dept would stop enforcing the Roe V. Wade decision?
Would you be worried?
Would you be decrying the abuse of power and the trampling of the Constitution?
THAT is exactly what has happened here.
"KING" Obama must go.

Was workin yesterday and all night. I don't want this thread devolving into some gay thing- there are other threads. My best friend is a gay person and he's Christian- crazy late nite conversations we have had, believe me! What a great and interesting world we all share....
I want to know who you think is gonna win it in 2012. Let's get this on the record....
And now I'm gonna go watch Ed on Letterman b/c I still haven't seen it.

How are they not LEGAL rights? if the DOMA is a law passed to define marriage as union between man and woman, how is it not legally keeping gay people from marrying? They are legal rights whether they're being denied or enforced.
haha, Roe vs. Wade? apples and orangutans (to quote someone else on here). There is a lot of grey area with marriage... Check out the Full Faith and Credit Clause.
And by the way, if you're scared of same sex marriage now, you should be very afraid that your sacred Bible will finally be eliminated from US law one day concerning marriage. I'll bet $2 on that (paypal of couse)that gay marriage will be universally acceptable in a few decades. I mean some people were scared in the 60's too when interracial marriages were made legal, and look how badly that has affected everyone.. oh the horror, people marrying whoever they want!!!Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
There are other threads about gay marriage. I don't care enough to keep this up. My position is clear.
Who's gonna win in 2012 JonnyP?
I'll put up $2 for that... I'm assuming it's somebody that's all about man-in-man sodomy.... yuck.0 -

OH NO PARACHUTE you don't get to sneak out on this without me replying...
and the issue itself isn't gay marriage it is government intrusion into people's lives that candidates like Rick Perry claim to want less of but then support government intrusion into people's lives.
first off those are two different things, abortion is a right that all women have, not just straight ones... and secondly when you address me it is pronounced LIBERTARIAN or TRUE CONSERVATIVE not liberal...feel free to read any of my previous posts, I am far from a supporter of Obama or the democrats...so before you throw baseless claims around maybe you should learn about something...this is the problem I have with fake conservatives...you only want rights for people when it suits you...you don't realize that to be a true conservative and want less government involvement in lives you need to deal with things you don't like. You cannot simply have it your way...if you want people to have personal freedoms they get to do whatever the fuck they want...Sorry to be the one to tell you that.
if you want marriage to be between one man and one woman that is fine, but at least read about the advantages of legal marriage so yes they are FUCKING LEGAL ADVANTAGES.

Christians want Christianity back in the government and schools and everywhere else, some muslim's want sharia law to take affect, to me there is no difference...you are free to practice any religion you want, I don't give a fuck, but don't make me practice it to, and don't give extra privileges to those who do...
and just so you know I DONT CARE who signed DOMA, it was wrong then and it is wrong now...that’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders

Rumor has it that ANTHONY WEINER is now planning to run for president.
Because of his popularity, he has chosen Attorney General ERIC HOLDER as his running mate. Get your "WEINER-HOLDER" bumper stickers early, before they are all gone.

Obama will win. And it won't be close. GOP has nobody to run against him and they know it. Whoever FOX decides they want to run against him will be the candidate.
Perry is a moron. I'm actually sitting 1/4 of a mile from the $10,000 dollar a month house that he lives in.
Also, if you're against gay marriage you're a bigot. Easy as that. Sanctity of marriage? Laughable. 50+% end in divorce so that's a bullshit argument. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -
no doubt there.
