I haven’t gotten a thing that Ten Club said I would get!

If you really want a refund, ask them and see their response. If you cancel now, you will still get the single anyway as long as you don't ask for your refund.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

The holiday single and the magazine will arrive... it's just that every year they are WAY behind schedule.
Personally I don't mind, but I agree that is not right
I would never be a member if it wasn't for the tickets, 20$ for a magazine and a single is way too much IMHO.Makes me ache, makes me shake...
...is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?0 -
it all depends when you join, how long it can take to get your goods. if you joined right after the last single went out, it can take up to a year and a half to see anything. you'll always get what is coming to you for a year's paid, it just takes a long time depending on the band. I really don't think these two issues are the fault of 10C at all, since the single and deep mag are highly dependent (obviously) on the band's contributions.
you don't get two deeps, by the way, only one now. last year the single and deep came around the same time, I believe. I think, besides 1994 where there was no single, this is the latest it's ever come.Gimli 1993

They apologized about 94 not having a singled and made 95 the double as part of that apology. But yeah i don't know why it say late. Everyone defends them by saying it's not a "Xmas single" it's an "annual single" but I ask why the have they for the last 4 or five years have "merry christmas" written on the, with Xmas themed artwork and in most cases Xmas themed songs? Last years was the 1st in about 5 year to not have Xmas themed songs and such.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
They seem to get later and later every year...which whatever...the thing is that you start to lose track after a while then the next year rolls around before you realize you didn't actually get anything at all. I wish they'd post a sticky or something so we have a place to check the progress of it...just so we know when we should start to worry by..."And even when I'm right with you I'm so far away"0

WOW!! I don't remember that. I'll go have to pull them out and refresh my memory. Thanks for the info.0 -
When they go to do the single this year they oughta just get next years ready as well and then they can take 2 years off without having to do anything except mail it.He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I think someone is putting WAY too much faith in this poorly run fan club.Dave Eh wrote:it all depends when you join, how long it can take to get your goods. if you joined right after the last single went out, it can take up to a year and a half to see anything. you'll always get what is coming to you for a year's paid, it just takes a long time depending on the band. To the OP - I would definitely email them and let them know your concerns. I certainly wouldn't trust them to keep track of something like this. That would have to be one complex and comprehensive system since they don't ever release the single on time and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the timing of Deep.0 -

Or they could split the song in half...one half for the current year and the other half for next year.0 -
I don't really care about the single or Deep magazine. I can understand Deep magazine taking time, but half the time it is full of out of focus pictures. I don't understand that.
I think the fan club single comes down on the band. The band is responsible for the music, and the artwork as well. The band plays about 20-30 shows a year and has "people" that do all the planning and logistics for the shows. The shows are just the band and a few lights, so it is not like there is a lot of planning about the shows other than equipment. I don't understand why it is so hard to get the single out the door on a consistent basis. I'm sure the band members do other stuff besides music that we never hear about on a daily basis, but it is pathetic that the annual Christmas single can't get done on a timely basis.0 -
I hear you!!!
I'm kind of in the same boat...
I joined last year after the Columbus show and never received any of the items that are mentioned when you sign up and pay your membership fee.
To me, It seems like a simple solution would be to send new members the MOST RECENT items as soon as they join, instead of making you wait over a year and receive NOTHING AT ALL from 10Club.
I wouldn't care if the info in Deep Magazine was dated, I'll take a copy of the latest version.
As for the holiday single, give me the one from the current year, the 2009 single came out AFTER I signed up in May of last year...and I didn't get one!!
GIVE me this one!!!
I know it's not a QUANTITY issue because the 2009 single is still available in the GOODS section!!! :ugeek:'96: Seattle: Key Arena

honestly, I don't know that it's poorly run. depends on who you are blaming. I think they are at the band's (or the band's management's) mercy with a lot that they can or cannot say and/or do (not to mention that on several occasions the fanclub "manager" says he doesn't give a shit about the fans). I get annoyed with the lack of communication, like when they don't answer ANY of my emails, but come on, do you really think that the single and Deep have anything to do with 10C? Almost all of the content of the magazine is done by the band themselves. The 7" is obviously done by the band. How is that the fan club's fault?
I'm pretty sure with those two items, all the fanclub is responsible for is mailing them out. and have we EVER not received our single and magazine? (besides the aforementioned 1994)Gimli 1993

there's obviously a cutoff date for this stuff. the benefit you have is that you get the current one, and you can buy the 2009 one for $4 with free shipping. I really don't think you have much to complain about.Gimli 1993

It would still be nice to get SOMETHING for the membership fee...even if it is a previously released issue/single.

But people are assuming the band hasn't done these things. Maybe they have and the delay is with the ten club getting shit printed and pressed and so on.
Either way it should be ultimately up to the fan club to get it out on time as it is something promised from the fan club.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -

haha. that's like me getting something from my president and just letting it sit on my desk and not sending it out to the shareholders. I highly doubt it is done. the fanclub is merely a messenger service for the band. don't shoot them.Gimli 1993

This is EXACTLY what the OP and others are saying...
We joined over a year ago, and have yet to receive ANYTHING (our single and magazine) that the 10 Club said we would get.
Not complaining...just trying to figure out why we didn't get the things we were promised when we signed up.
So... if I DON'T renew my membership for this year, will I get the next holiday single & copy of Deep Magazine whenever they decide to put it out? :ugeek:'96: Seattle: Key Arena

I didnt sign up for the tickets,Deep Magizine or the damn single. They are nice to have as a bonus. But my main reason to sign up was to be apart of this great community of Pearl Jam Fans. I have gotten so much more out of this place than I can ever get from the 10 club.
Yes the fans may have been moved down the priority list. That is why its up to us to keep this place a positive community to keep comming back to and get out our feelings on the music or other topics.
Just the people I meet in here is well worht the $40 a year.
Some words when spoken...Can't be taken back...0
