people need to have sex, it's really just that simple, if they started letting preist get married it would go a long way to fixing this.

I did a quick google search and we have an embassy in the vatican...why does any country need an embassy in the vatican? Is it necessary? Could someone explain that?

My family was victimized by the Catholic church in Ireland through the old industrial school system so I am glad to see any separation of the government and the church there. Sadly, though, the government still has a long way to go. Anyone who has read the Ryan or Murphy reports knows that the state still hasn't taken a lot of the Catholic church's abuses seriously enough.

This happens in all organized religions.

Some of them are just better at covering it up than others.

It doesn't help when the dudes running the show can't make out with chicks.

It's a silly premise. Most normal guys in developed countries wouldn't even consider the priesthood. Most the priests nowadays are from India or other foreign nations. I go to Mass usually twice a year, and I can't understand our priest's thick accent when it echos around the church.

I was an alter boy for ten years. Either I was lucky, or I'm not very attractive.

that's true, but the problem is that the leadership of the Catholic Church has enabled those who do hurt children.

some accountability and almost none sound a lot alike to me

when there is money at stake .... cover up is the name of the game

this true for just about everyone
organizations, personal responsibility, everyone everywhere ... 'cover thy ass'

Same as others who enable abusers, my view, on all levels it is wrong.

As wrong as those abusing and making victims of other human beings,
this on all levels. Befriend an abuser, cover for them, justify, rationalize,
all wrong and people do it everyday everywhere.
