I mean the 6 year anniversary of that is coming soon on August 1.
They did that on AET the day Santos was on. It was a free show that fell through.
Like that would hard to pull off. In 1991 Van Halen did it in Dallas. They announced the show, set up a stage downtown, put on the show, and left afterwards. 75,000 people showed and had a great time.
I think they had MSG in mind which may have been more difficult. Not defending the lack of info for 5+ years, just stating what I heard.___________________________________________

I am sure MSG was the plan, but why make it that hard is all I am saying? They could have just set up shop in a field somewhere if they really, really wanted to pull it off. It just seems like everything they do is rife with issues and problems when other bands don't seem to have the same issues.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

Metallica played a free show in the Wachovia Center parking lot when I was in college in 1997.- Busted down the pretext

I was at that show... simple setup, a stage in one corner of the parking lot. One gate open to allow those who picked up free tickets entry and that's about it. I don't remember how long they played but had to be at least and hour or so. Worked out well, no problems that I recall and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.Post edited by chromiam onThis is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

Steps were taken to make it better for you and you have to know that all the people working behind the scenes that help every Ten Club member when they call or write with a problem is experiencing pain from this. People want everyone to be happy...that can't be said enough. Things are arranged and constantly being worked on to be improved and when it goes wrong, it's horrible. That's the only word I can think of, horrible. I won't go on although there's more I could say. ... I personally couldn't feel worse that's it's been so awful and I know others feel the same.
Kat,
This is a very classy reply... we on the outside rarely (if ever) get a glimpse into what it must be like for you when things go wrong... given the level to which things have gone wrong these past two days, I can feel your pain, and appreciate you opening up a bit...37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)0 -
So I got over yesterday...knowing that today would be frustrating but hopefully *better*. Started fine, got the tix in my cart about 10:10pst. Finally submitted my credit card info at about 10:45 but then never got a confirmation. Now it's sold out and my cart is empty. What are the chances I actually got tickets?0

2. People were able to get in and purchase tickets after we were told to chill out because the store is closed.
Again for the record, go look at the update. No one snuck in and was able to purchase tickets. People were merely able to finally complete the transaction they had started some 8 hours before. It was not some trick, unfair loophole that only some people had access too. I completely understand why people are upset, but there wasn't some unfair scheme going on. I had tickets in my cart all day and after Tim's message, I was able to complete the transaction. It was directly inline with what Tim told people to do.
So be upset, but at least cross off the "people snuck in after the store was closed" complaint from the list. Its just not true.1998-06-30 Minneapolis
