I mean the 6 year anniversary of that is coming soon on August 1.

They did that on AET the day Santos was on. It was a free show that fell through.

I do not disagree. Ignoring member questions on that issue for as long as they did was poor customer service.

No we won't because the server crashes during EVERY presale. Usually you, the tenclub, and the band don't care about the difficulties we all have because all the tickets get sold in spite of the crash. But since all the tickets didn't get sold this time, you have to run damage control.

You don't know me so I'm going to forgive your rude comment and accusation directed at me this one time. My posts are my own because I'm also a fan and when I make posts trying to help people cope in a calm way instead of taking out their frustrations on another member, it's because I care and I can tell you that EVERYONE cares about this and having people be happy. See my sig? That's what this is about and the technical problems are spoiling it up to now. Do not make false accusations again and know this, a lot of people care about the difficulties everyone is experiencing.

Alright maybe I shouldn't lump you in with the Tenclub. But this happens during every single presale...it just happened on a much bigger scale this time. I just don't see how a band/business that's been around for 20 years can have a website that is so inept. Since you say you're a fan, I ask you, have you ever tried to get tickets on this site? Not just yesterday, but any time during the last 5 years? If you haven't, you can't begin to understand the frustrations of these presales.

  • I never post on here any more but I just have to say, WOW! What a complete and massive F*ck up ticket sales are through this site. By the way, thanks for moving the Canadian pre-sale tickets back a day, I made all of my arrangements to get tickets on Tuesday, now I'm screwed out of getting tickets as well. Thanks :(

No offense man but give me a break. They have WAY more frustrations when shit like this happens because THEY have to deal with [rude comment removed] complaining for 2 years about it. Try looking at situations from other peoples viewpoints before you start spouting off. You really think they don't give a shit? Keep in mind that sites like ticketmaster, who have billions of dollars crash from time to time because they can't handle the load. [rude comment removed]

I think what the post was trying to say, perhaps unsuccessfully, is that perception is reality. I dont think any of us really believe 10C is all just a money grab and that prices were raised w/o any improvement to the servers, etc. I think the frustration comes from an overall lack of communication or transparency. As many people have pointed out, this is not the first time there have been issues during a ticket sale. I think people are upset that they generally don't feel as though 10C provides enough information during these times when the system breaks down. Thats not to say 10C wasnt working their asses off behind the scene that we dont see, but it makes it hard if there is little to no information and no tangible improvement. Hopefully things will be back online this morning and everything will work. Or, in the alternative, hopefully we will recieve an explanation of what happened and the measures taken to right the situation.

It's an embarrassment that you would post this.

If they were truly embarrassed, they'd spend money on a new system for selling tickets that actually works.

    You would think.

The fact that they didn't see this coming is what is completely mind-boggling. People from all over the world trying to get tickets to a 20th anniversary weekend at the same time....of course the server was going to crash.

I don't know if it's a pride thing or what, but it has become very apparent that the 10c cannot handle these presales with tons of people trying to get tickets at the same time. Why not outsource to avoid this constant mess?

I won't even have a crooked smile at that "can't begin to understand" part. There's absolutely nothing funny about this and it's actually painful. Steps were taken to make it better for you and you have to know that all the people working behind the scenes that help every Ten Club member when they call or write with a problem is experiencing pain from this. People want everyone to be happy...that can't be said enough. Things are arranged and constantly being worked on to be improved and when it goes wrong, it's horrible. That's the only word I can think of, horrible. I won't go on although there's more I could say. Please just try to get through the rest of this in a calm way. People are going to feel a lot better when they have their ticket confirmations and I personally wouldn't want anyone to regret things they've said in the heat of the quest for tickets. I know that's not worth much yet but it will be when everyone gets through this. I personally couldn't feel worse that's it's been so awful and I know others feel the same.

I don't recall the server crashing for KC last year. Or even for DC. Or Chicago in 2009 if you want a larger city. West Palm in 2008. Why not wait and see if they state something in an hour like they posted last night?

And Jesus, I heard even the famed Amazon server crashed yesterday. I was told that it was impossible to do that.

  • As an aside, why wasn't there an e-mail sent out once the Canadian presale was delayed a whole day? This perception that everyone spends 24/7 on this board is a little skewed. I would be pissed if I made arrangements to be off from work or arranged my schedule to be sure I was in front of a computer today only to stumble upon the info that it is now tomorrow.

Just a bad job all around.

I know its frustrating, but think of it this way. Just because Pearl Jam makes a damn good amount of money, doesnt mean they allocate unlimited resources to the 10C. They probably have x amount of money to keep the site up, servers, and all the other tech stuff I don't understand. Why do you think other fan clubs and bands use lottos? It's to avoid this headache, where they can't possibly have enough resources to keep the site from crashing. Instead they do lottos. Personally I don't mind either system, but remember, you got tix before anyone outside of this club could. I know that doesnt change the fact that the server isn't competent enough, but I'm sure they do the best with what they are given.
