Honestly, I would rather go through the issues we went through yesterday than do a lotto. You have no control over a lotto

No offense man but give me a break. They have WAY more frustrations when shit like this happens because THEY have to deal with [rude comment removed] like YOU complaining for 2 years about it. Try looking at situations from other peoples viewpoints before you start spouting off. You really think they don't give a shit? Keep in mind that sites like ticketmaster, who have billions of dollars crash from time to time because they can't handle the load. Deal with it, I know it sucks but [rude comment removed]

Yeah I'm sure they're frustrated THIS TIME because the server totally malfunctioned and only half of the tickets got sold. But what about all the other presales where you're there for hours refreshing? Tenclub never apologizes for those. Because what do they care if you're sitting in front of a computer for hours? They sold all their tickets. The whole [rude comment removed] Like yesterday when they said at 4 p.m. that the 'goods' store was closed when it wasn't.

But whatever, I got my tickets so I done complaining.

I know its frustrating, but think of it this way. Just because Pearl Jam makes a damn good amount of money, doesnt mean they allocate unlimited resources to the 10C. They probably have x amount of money to keep the site up, servers, and all the other tech stuff I don't understand. Why do you think other fan clubs and bands use lottos? It's to avoid this headache, where they can't possibly have enough resources to keep the site from crashing. Instead they do lottos. Personally I don't mind either system, but remember, you got tix before anyone outside of this club could. I know that doesnt change the fact that the server isn't competent enough, but I'm sure they do the best with what they are given.

"Wise folks count their blessings, fools count their problems"

    Einstein says:

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

i think 10c should take a serious look at that quote....

It sounds like they tried to make it better. But I'm guessing that its hard to do a dry run test on a ticket system that is being attacked from the entire world. I kinda figured this would happen though. I've never had problems getting tickets until MSG last year. And I missed work most of the day trying to get presale tickets for that. Then the second presale ended up being a waste of time for me too. IT was very disheartening that I never got tickets for MSG, and that is partially why I decided not to even try for tickets yesterday. But I genuinely think they want to make it better but just don't know how. 10C, please start making arrangements for PJ50 right now! :P

    Kat,

Thanks for your sincerity and for addressing peoples' concerns. I maintain faith that the distribution process of fan club tix has been set up in a way that most if not all pre-sale folks will be able to get tickets. Hopefully then we'll all be a calmer bunch. Here's to today being much smoother and productive for all.

As an aside, why wasn't there an e-mail sent out once the Canadian presale was delayed a whole day? This perception that everyone spends 24/7 on this board is a little skewed. I would be pissed if I made arrangements to be off from work or arranged my schedule to be sure I was in front of a computer today only to stumble upon the info that it is now tomorrow.

Just a bad job all around.

A Love Letter to the fans:

It’s all love. And we just wanted to you to know … We love you because you love Pearl Jam. We love you because you participate in our Ten Club fun. We love you because of your enthusiasm and support for both Pearl Jam and the Ten Club. We love you because of your passion and dedication to music. It’s all love.

Like any other loving relationship, you must acknowledge that we are not perfect. We recognize we have some faults. Sometimes we send out newsletters too late, or the holiday single doesn’t come out during the holidays. Or we can only offer limited amount of tickets or merchandise, which leaves some of you without and extremely frustrated. Or sometimes our forums will go down, leaving you without your link to other fan club members. Or sometimes our web-store will not function properly for you and you are not able to purchase the items you are interested in … we want you to know we feel your pain. Every healthy relationship is a little push and pull, ebb and flow, up and down, so it’s nothing personal.

Pearl Jam and the Ten Club have been through many changes in the past year. The band has left their record label of 14 years and ventured into unstable but exciting territory of doing many things on their own. The Ten Club is a small operation and has taken on a lot of these endeavors, and we are learning many things along the way - your input is extremely helpful. During this transitional time, just know we are trying to make things better for you, to offer you more opportunities and include you more into the world of Pearl Jam.

That being said, we have high hopes that you will like us a whole lot more when all is said and done. We are planning to do something for our members early next year, to follow the release of the new record … something big, bold, beautiful, and free! So hang tight and enjoy the ride with us, continue to provide us with your input, and continue to spread the PJ love.

Did we mention that we love you? It’s all love.

    Always,

    ~Ten Club Staff

It's been almost 6 years and all of the problems you listed still occur. And I just found out today on this thread what BBBF was and apparently the info was released on a call in show about 5 and a half years later after being first mentioned? You could see why many of us longtimers are frustrated by yesterday and the sales process in general.

Not to be rude or out of line here Kat, but if 10C actually explains WHAT HAPPENED, like you say above it will be a first. Unfortunately, the 10Club is famous for having problems and NEVER, and I mean NEVER addressing what happened.

Honestly, I would rather go through the issues we went through yesterday than do a lotto. You have no control over a lotto

exactly. before some of you rant at the 10C, let's remember your last experience when you didnt get tickets through a lottery or when you were on TicketMaster at 10:00am sharp, entered the stupid squigly words and got nosebleed tickets at the back of the arena.

be careful what you wish for. after listening to Tim on AET and actually speaking to someone from the 10C on the phone yesterday, I believe that they really do care. no, they didnt help me out or anything, but I could hear the stress in her voice.

unfortunately, after this, I'm worried that they might just say "to hell with this" and go to a lottery or TM. I certainly hope not.

I feel your pain, Kat. I know what system / server crashes are like from jobs I've worked. And I agree people need to calm down and understand the frustrations of dealing with server issues. It is horrible to deal with, but the same problems repeating over and over again begs for a different way of solving the problem. Yes, people should understand what 10c has to deal with right now, and 10c should also take into consideration our frustrations and how to change business so that these problems can be solved for the future.

You people need to stop thinking that by not getting tickets to a band you've seen many times is the end of the world. I bet half of you that do get 10c will complain about your seat locations, the length of the 10c line or the people around you at the show.

I mean come on, you don't know what happened yesterday; maybe the server got a virus or something. Just take a deep breath and relax. There will literally be thousands of tickets available today.

all I can say that is in 15 years the 10C has been awesome to me. Twice (1998 and 2003) when they oversold 10c tickets to 10 shows they gave me first row to other shows instead. (msg 1998 and holmdel 2003)

Have patience, all will be good.

I think we all know that 10c cares. But there just has to be a better way than what happened yesterday. That was a complete mess. If a lottery is the only way to avoid these issues, then so be it. I'd rather do that than sit in front of a computer for 8 hours pressing F5.

If that's the case, then just state that. People understand that there are problems. However, continually having server problems during major events does not justify you not stating what the problems are or stem from. It's called customer service and 10C seems to be seriously lacking that on a basic level.

It's fine to complain, but the complainer should call it what it is, which is self-serving emotional venting with the hope that others feel the same and will agree with you in your own thread. You know when you screw up, and you're thinking to yourself, "gee, that didn't go well". Then one or two people you know point it out, which is okay. But when 871 people point out that you messed up, it's not helpful anymore and isn't likely to facilitate change. That's what's happening at this point.

I mean the 6 year anniversary of that is coming soon on August 1.

They did that on AET the day Santos was on. It was a free show that fell through.

Like that would hard to pull off. In 1991 Van Halen did it in Dallas. They announced the show, set up a stage downtown, put on the show, and left afterwards. 75,000 people showed and had a great time.
