Do they let you smash it with a sledgehammer? If not, they ought to! And how many bars are there in the downtown area within walking distance of where you need to drop it off? You're going to hit at least one, right?

I'll be raising a glass to you when I get out of my cube today Rob! Nicely done, nicely done!

Peace and Chi being sent your way for the follow up test.

I'm sure if I smashed it, I'd owe someone another $10 grand.

No bars for me today....not exactly up for alcohol consumption today. But I'm free of the pump and I feel damn good about that

Gonna stay home and root for my OU Bobcats tonight.

Hang on in there! Probably sounds daft but keep moisturising your hands and feet. I've know quite a few people that got really flaky skin post-chemo. Better still get someone to rub it on your feet for you.

well, I guess it beats the alternative  but the numbness (neuropathy) in my feet seems to get WORSE by the day

so I did a google search and unfortunately I have a lot of company. there are people 14 years removed from chemo who STILL have numbness  . this bums me out. there's a lot to read but maybe I can find drug or vitamin (preferably a vitamin) that will help.

As a nurse, we would sometimes suggest rubbing Vicks on the legs/feet of people with diabetic neuropathy. I am
not certain if it would be of help to you, but it might be worth a try? I understand neuropathy can be quite painful/uncomfortable. I wish you all the best as you go through this!!

So awesome to hear you're done with chemo! The numbness is interesting, but does sound like a bummer. Surely there has got to be something that can help ease that side effect.

Good grief, just searched the web for info by putting in 'post chemo neuropathy' - there's gazillions of things on there.

Read a few pages and quite a lot of them mentioned B vitamins and that you can be low on them post chemo. What I was really looking for was info about alternative therapies which could be used in conjunction with 'regular' medicine to help with the recovery. A lot of sites I went on seemed to want to sell something, which wasn't helpful.

Anyway, working with feet we see a lot of people with neuropathy (more often as not with Diabetics). As I said before, moisturise your feet (it'll all apply to hands too) - it helps maintain good skin quality, poor skin quality can lead to cracks/fissures in your skin, opening you up to possible infection. Also moisturising them will mean that you can check them at the same time for any problems. I know walking on feet with reduced/altered sensation, can alter your gait, sometimes people stomp more, try and walk as naturally as possible, look at your feet rather than bring them down harder. Also be careful when you buy shoes, this probably sounds daft, but we've had a lot of patients who think their feet have shrunk because of neuropathy, they put on their regular sized shoe and it doesn't feel the same, so they think they need a smaller shoe - they rush and buy one and it feels better to them. But because it's smaller it's tighter on their foot and the pressure and rubbing (which they aren't aware of) causes problems.

From what I read most people do regain sensation when they've developed neuropathy post chemo. If it means anything, everyone I know that has had problems like this post chemo is now fine.

Sorry to go on about feet so much. I get to see a lot of them at work.
