Hi, my name's Rob, and I'm a Giants fan. But now, with Rhutabegas and free books, I've seen the light. Tommy Lasorda was right and I must confess and cleanse, the Dodgers, from LA, are the only true blue baseball team that runs through my blood. Its been a long road to come to, here, this place and time but I know its the right thing to do. So, yea, I hope you'll accept me and welcome me with arms aloft. And know that I believe. By the way, I like the feel of Spandex against my skin."
What? No more bear claws? Fuck that, I'm outta here! C'mon Gracie, we're leaving.
OK, we're all waiting to hear about the group accupuncture/yoga/chanting session! :corn:
I knew it! He joined a cult and is being re-programmed. Damn, I knew it. He's a Dodger's fan now.
Peace.
first of all.... :x :x :x :x :x ....norm is right....nothing, and I mean NOTHING will could ever lure me to the dark side. I will spit on fat tommy's grave
OK...got that out of the way...I go to my appointment....I get lost trying to find it, but that's another story. I walk into the HR Block bldg  and enter a waiting room the size of a closet...the girl is typing on...what else...a Mac . she gives me the spiel...turn off your phone (I forgot mine, anyway), pay what you can afford (I gave the max), whisper when you enter the "inner sanctum"
I was a bit disappointed in the absence of a beaded curtain, shag carpet and/or a patchouli scent in the air....no one wearing a caftan, either. so, I enter the "whisper zone" and some broad is sawing logs at a high decibel level in her recliner . "hey lady, hold it down!"
even without the beaded curtain, it did have the vibe....low lighting (japanese paper globes which were probably a code violation), gurgling water from somewhere, tibetan chant music playing , burlap on the walls, etc. the acupuncturist took a pretty good history on me (in a whisper) and proceeded to implant 25 needles, yes 25, in me....one in every fingertip (those hurt), 3 in one wrist, 4 on the back of my other hand and four in each leg and foot.
then, the gurgling water made me have to pee but....well, that wasn't going to be possible . after maybe 30 minutes, the needles came out. the whole time, there were at least 5 other people getting treatment. I noticed one girl only got 6 needles and most people had a few in their head (but not me). I looked for a nice squash to grab on the way out but there were no vegetables in sight :wtf: . maybe that's more of a summer thing. so far, no real change in my pain level but I did sleep like a baby last night and maybe there's some connection. I'm going back on monday.
going to see social distortion tonight....THAT ought to make me forget the pain for a few hours....that, or the pain will move to my ears!

I Hope it works out for you bud. I have a cronic shoulder injury from throwing a cricket ball around for 20 years(I'm guessing alot of baseball pitchers get the same injury) and acupunture fixes it right up.
Just curious. How much do they charge you for a treatment. The little chinese guy near my place charges me $75 for an hour or $100 for a 45 minute massage and 45 minutes of acupunture.

the place I go is kind of a co-op kind of place (see earlier posts ). you pay what you can afford, $15-40, for about a 45 minute session.
the girl who works there once a week also has a private practice and she charges $115 for the first 2 hour session and $75 for subsequent one hour sessions. I'm trying to decide if I should cough up the dough for private sessions. here's hoping today's session does SOMETHING.

Wearing your Giants jersey to the games or show? Safe travels and enjoy. Where you staying? How long? I could order up some 50 or so needles delivered to your room or something?
Have a blast and I hope you have great seats for the games so the ump can hear you yell, "hey ump, how about turning around, bending over and calling 'em with your one good eye!"

Yep, its true. One year ago today you posted on the forum your diagnosis. Yep, one year ago today. At the time, you may not have had any idea the impact the bearing of your soul would have. But in a way I think you knew this was the right place to turn to. Your original post says it all. And your subsequent posts, keeping us updated, making us laugh, mostly, sometimes cry, but always reminding us of your incredible spirit and the power of this community. Thank you. Thank you for making me a better person and for being you, with all you’ve been through. Hang in there, enjoy those Giants, shows, Gracie and most of all, Codie. Keep on keeping on!
From May 20th of A Cherokee Feast of Days:
“Many of us would gladly take the responsibility of hurt for those we love. We feel we would be more capable of bearing it, more apt to handle it. We want to leave them as unscathed and near perfect as possible. But we cannot take some people’s problems. They must use their own strength and learn what is true and false in living. Not so different from us, they might not take the wisest steps. It may also be hard for them to believe that our experiences have ever been as wretched as their own. It is difficult not to cry with those we love. Our hearts cry, even when frustration makes our faces stern and stoic. But we have to allow other people to put down their feet and take a stand. How can they become strong in their own right if we try to be in their legs?”
Sometimes we prayed in silence; sometimes each one prayed aloud; sometimes and aged person prayed for all of us…and to Usen.

I’m glad its mostly behind you now and that you’re looking forward to a great many better things. I hope you enjoyed the games and got to say hello to Mike and he melted your face off!
