    first of all.... :x :x :x :x :x ....norm is right....nothing, and I mean NOTHING will could ever lure me to the dark side. I will spit on fat tommy's grave :lol:

    OK...got that out of the way...I go to my appointment....I get lost trying to find it, but that's another story. I walk into the HR Block bldg :roll: and enter a waiting room the size of a closet...the girl is typing on...what else...a Mac :lol: . she gives me the spiel...turn off your phone (I forgot mine, anyway), pay what you can afford (I gave the max), whisper when you enter the "inner sanctum" :lol:

    I was a bit disappointed in the absence of a beaded curtain, shag carpet and/or a patchouli scent in the air....no one wearing a caftan, either. so, I enter the "whisper zone" and some broad is sawing logs at a high decibel level in her recliner :lol: . "hey lady, hold it down!"

    even without the beaded curtain, it did have the vibe....low lighting (japanese paper globes which were probably a code violation), gurgling water from somewhere, tibetan chant music playing :lol: , burlap on the walls, etc. the acupuncturist took a pretty good history on me (in a whisper) and proceeded to implant 25 needles, yes 25, in me....one in every fingertip (those hurt), 3 in one wrist, 4 on the back of my other hand and four in each leg and foot.

    then, the gurgling water made me have to pee but....well, that wasn't going to be possible :lol: . after maybe 30 minutes, the needles came out. the whole time, there were at least 5 other people getting treatment. I noticed one girl only got 6 needles and most people had a few in their head (but not me). I looked for a nice squash to grab on the way out but there were no vegetables in sight :wtf: . maybe that's more of a summer thing. so far, no real change in my pain level but I did sleep like a baby last night and maybe there's some connection. I'm going back on monday.

    going to see social distortion tonight....THAT ought to make me forget the pain for a few hours....that, or the pain will move to my ears! :mrgreen:

    I Hope it works out for you bud. I have a cronic shoulder injury from throwing a cricket ball around for 20 years(I'm guessing alot of baseball pitchers get the same injury) and acupunture fixes it right up.

    Just curious. How much do they charge you for a treatment. The little chinese guy near my place charges me $75 for an hour or $100 for a 45 minute massage and 45 minutes of acupunture.

    the place I go is kind of a co-op kind of place (see earlier posts :lol: ). you pay what you can afford, $15-40, for about a 45 minute session.

    the girl who works there once a week also has a private practice and she charges $115 for the first 2 hour session and $75 for subsequent one hour sessions. I'm trying to decide if I should cough up the dough for private sessions. here's hoping today's session does SOMETHING.

    I just realized that it was one year ago...5/17/11....that I "officially" got cancer :cry: ....that was the date on the doctor's letter and the date we use for insurance purposes. not a fan of the grateful dead :shock: but as they say "what a long, strange trip it's been."

    got another acupuncture tonight....33 needles this time :shock:

    off to SF in the morning for a couple of giants games and flight to mars :mrgreen:

    Yep, its true. One year ago today you posted on the forum your diagnosis. Yep, one year ago today. At the time, you may not have had any idea the impact the bearing of your soul would have. But in a way I think you knew this was the right place to turn to. Your original post says it all. And your subsequent posts, keeping us updated, making us laugh, mostly, sometimes cry, but always reminding us of your incredible spirit and the power of this community. Thank you. Thank you for making me a better person and for being you, with all you’ve been through. Hang in there, enjoy those Giants, shows, Gracie and most of all, Codie. Keep on keeping on!
