Just rolling in...
Great lunch and conversation. Next one is on me. I think we should do the BBQ place.
Ron, give us a heads up when you leave MT, and we will plan accordingly.
Its all good talk too. Baseball, football, friends, and even crazy backpacks."...would you like some forks?" EV 12-02-060 -

what a weekend....got there noonish on saturday....it was a beautiful day....proceeded to drink a little too much  . man, what an expensive city  . hamburgers seemed to be $16 everywhere we went. so, anyway, we had a bunch of ($8) beers and I hooked up with friends from las vegas. we had a few more beers, did the water taxi thingand then.....discovered POUTINE!!! mmmmmmm! fries with gravy, melted cheese curds and pot roast on top. took care of my buzz too, so we ordered another pitcher. went to bed early and was serenaded all night by sirens and drunks outside our hotel.
next day...rain...."bag issues" so we went to a nearby fire station to score some tape. talked to the firemen for a long time and met their two search dogs....two goldens. drank some more....went to the pre-party...I walk by the ticket line and hear "ROB!!"....it was rckcndy and she recognized the jersey
.....got TONS of comments on the jersey. we met haffajappa, ryzupsf, fifth element and some other VERY cool peeps at the pre-party. it did my heart good to meet you guys
we shot back to the hotel to drink the (4) 16oz. beers that mysteriously appeared in the mini bar (along with a bag of cashews and a relish tray....halifax - you are the best stalker ever). we cabbed back to the venue and, yes, PJ melted our faces off. what a show and by the time RITFW was in full force, my grin was of the perma variety. and, for what it's worth, I thought elderly woman was a great opener....I just want to scream HELLOOOOOOOOO!
I know that's a pretty weak review...but I'm still beat. our "5 to 10 minute" delay at the airport turned into an hour and a half and by the time we rolled in last night, my old ass was done. but it was great and you guys had a big part in that!
I see my chemo guy on thursday. he will decide when he wants to start abusing my system again...
P.S. that poster sucks ass....but I bought one
when i saw fifth (who i finally met in Edmonton) i was looking around for you and she said you were around, then she came and found me to introduce us! i have to get that photo off her
oh and that poster WAS atrocious... i was there when they opened the box outside and watched everyone's face just drop with mortified looks haha.. too bad, of all shows to get the ugly poster! :(
oh well!
glad to hear your fight is going good so far... stay strong and stay cool rob!!live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -
Well what can I say...another unbelievable performance by one of the greatest rock bands in history! The waiting drove me mad... Rob looks great and I'm happy we were able to hang out with him and Codie. The guy is quite an inspiration. Actually it was irritating to not be able to complain about my ruptured achilles tendon around him for fear of coming off as a puss;) Canada was great! Poutine rocks! With our American diets I can't believe we haven't imported that one yet! Granville Island was cool and the Maple Cream Ale is very good. I learned that killer whales don't give a shit how much you pay to see them...they're on their own schedule. BC ain't no Sea World! We did see some Minke(?) whales and a bunch of sea lions, porpises and others. I prefer to see animals in their natural habitat anyways...which leads me to the nuts getting out of the bars downtown. It was so crazy that I ended up propping up a chair and watching out the hotel window from about 1-3am Friday night. I thought Vegas was crazy! That was the 2nd best show of the weekend! I was happy to hear Wishlist (for Codie), SOLAT (for Rob) and Corduroy, Lukin and Little Wing (for me). My wife bought a shirt at the Wishlist Foundation Pre-party (thanks by the way) that said "Smile" on it. She insisted that they were going to play Smile tonight. I said okay we'll see. While not considered a rarity, it's not one that they play very often. So as the show drew to a close and as I was prepping my "maybe next time" speech...low and behold...SMILE! We both went bat shit crazy! Great song, great show, great weekend!

Tonight I gave the checkout lady at Jewel 4 of the "save the pooper" bracelets
She commented that she liked the colors and asked me what cause it was for. When I told her, she said her brother had cancer and it was pretty bad but that he was facing it with humor. So I offered her a bracelet (yes I still carry a ring with a dozen or so in my big ass purse). She says "Sure! He's got testicular cancer, but that's close enough!"
I offered her as many as she wanted, she took one for her and one each for her bro, his wife and their son.
Still spreading the pooper love!
(if anyone still wants one, PM me, I have literally a shitload of them)

noooooooooo--but I maybe could have been... haha!
I normally carry just a small crossbody pouch thingy with enough room for a few essentials to things like concerts and bars...Although before someone around here busts me out, I DID bring a dickies canvas tote to hold BRACELETS and my merch this year in Canada and at AlpineI didnt knock anyone out with it, held it low when walking in crowds, and I kept it in my seat behind me during the show--so no one was harmed!
With a stadium full of poster tubes, a big purse could hardly be considered an obstacle!Makes much more sense...

Great photo. Love the jersey.
And although I miss watching our Giants in the playoffs, it's been lots of fun watching the D***ers. Oh, wait. They didn't make the playoffs, did they?0 -

Ahem, and the word "parties" is spelled out in the window over your right shoulderPARTIES, who Rob? Na, he don't party. Much!
That is a sweet ass picture if I do say so myself. One of these days Rob, I swear, we'll get mine and your jerseys in a photo opp outside the venue under the marquee. One of these days! Oh, if you'll be seen with a Red Sox jersey that is! Hangs his head in shame. But hey, the Bruins open their defense of the Cup tonight. Slowly, things are getting right again.
