    Cry, listen to music, lay down and rest for awhile. It's what your soul needs now. No need to keep the tough exterior. Our love and hope for you and your wife is deeply rooted and growing exponentially. Let all the love and hope you receive in. It will strengthen your soul and repair your body. You have no idea how many people you have healed with just your positive attitude during all of this. Love, hope and light to you and your wife.

    I think you have to just let it all out mate, it's not good to hold it in.
    I thoroughly enjoyed making that card for you Rob, I know it's not much but I think it made me feel like it was something I could do, even if it was just a card. I'm pretty sure everyone felt like that that sent you something, this crappy disease can make friends and family feel pretty useless I guess and by being able to send our thoughts and well wishes, it gives us the feeling of being able to help a little.

    i'm alive, have you ever thought about getting a second opinion? I thought they would want to remove your mass right away, but I'm not a doctor. I just re-read your original post and you said your surgery is in Sept.

    I hope you and your wife are doing ok, despite this :)

    no, I really didn't. I love my doctors. all three are on board and, from what I hear, "shrink and kill; regain strength; remove and recover" is pretty much standard protocol these days.

    I guess my last update was a few days ago, when I was really feeling shitty. Things are better recently. Since I got off the chemo, my feet and hands no longer ache and my lip/mouth sores are about 100%. we'll see what a resumption of chemo on thursday does but, at that point, I'll only have a week left. My radiation doc says it is very common to have to change or reduce either the radiation or chemo. It's like "well, we got him through treatment but unfortunately he died of sepsis and dehydration" :shock: :lol: . Well, that ain't happening.

    My worst side effects now are diarrhea (controllable) and stomach cramps. As for the cramps, I've said "fuck it, if I need to take 8 oxycodones a day, I will." I've got cramps right now, but I know how to deal with them.

    all in all, things are not bad. gonna finish a few posts and then go read a book :mrgreen:

    while you are in treatment, are you allowed to take vitamins? because you sure need some vitamin d now.
