This made me a bit nervous. Me and my brother have pretty much decided to try and get tickets and travel from Norway, but not if we have to stand miles away from the stage?
How does that work? Any pictures on google that shows how the view is from there?

I have personally attended shows at Alpine Valley from the lawn before and I would say that the view really isn't band. Because the ampitheater is set on a hillside your view angle is MUCH BETTER then being out in a huge field like at Lollapalloza in Chicago or your average big European or US music festival. Besides that they have some huge jumbotron displays on either side of the stage so you can see what the hell is going on.

I also get the impression from the pj20.com website that the "10C viewing area" is going to amount to them taking the front area of the lawn section and fencing it off and not opening it until PJ goes on stage. meaning that you might actually be able to wonder around all day and check out other bands etc. and not worry about defending your 4 ft. square turf for 8 hours without getting up to take a piss or get something to eat. While I'm sure there will be a large crowd surrounding that entrance for it on the lawn waiting to get in, I doubt it it will mean that anyone with a 10C wristband will be watching PJ from over the top of the berm.

And of course I would say that like any show, it's the experience of being there that counts, not how close you get.

Meh, spending so much money I'd want to experience the euphoria of the crowd close to the stage.
For me, standing in the back watching big screens is kind of lame.

Maybe we will try to get that reserved/GA package.

Cheap domestic flights in Canada don't really exist since we only have two real airlines.

I agree on the bus for a trip between Hamilton and Ottawa. Travelling in Canada is way too expensive. There are no cheap flights and the train is also crazy expensive. Bus is the only cheap way to travel if you are not driving yourself... though with the price of gas bus is cheaper than driving yourself too.

I was reading the email from yesterday and this stood out to me.

Note: As with all Pearl Jam ticket sales, each pair of tickets must be purchased separately. Please keep this in mind when making your ticket purchases.

Maybe im reading into this the wrong way but is it saying that after I select my first set of tickets I have to acutally process the payment or can it just be put in my cart and then try to get the next show and pay after ive added the shows I want for example Toronto 1 and 2 and Montreal.

Just wondering because if i do three seperate charges Visa might question it and decline it.
Or maybe im not entirely awake yet.

I dont think Montreal will be that hard but definetly getting both Toronto shows will be.

Do you know if have to process each payment seperately?

I've asked before but don't think I got a clear answer. Can you have two computers buying simultaneously? Can I have my wife buy tickets to one show while I buy tickets to another?

montreal is on a wednesday... but it's the only "northeast" show

and toronto being on a weekend

i really don't think you'll be able to get all 3

especially since i do believe it has to be 3 separate transactions

I would suggest you buy your pair. And then see if you can find some people to switch around with once you get to the venue. There are lots of people that have spares and many of us will scooch over to make room for one more in the row. I dont think you would have any problems securing another ticket long before the concert date. Am I making sense?

    f that... i ain't scooching

so like $334, for a GA/Res... that means $334, my bro and I are both in, entire weekend, or $334 for me, $334 for him, pair of 2 day passes from 10C is $668?
Sounds insane, think I answered my own question, but feel free to clarify, and harass if you need to, simple question :)

The prices and stuff are up on Ticketmaster for Alpine shows....looks like they are doing it Night 1 and Night 2....which is annoying!! Why isn't there an option to purchase for BOTH nights - Best Available. Now, if I don't get tickets on Monday, I have to have 2 browsers up...and pray that I get something.

I have never seen a concert at Alpine, this is what I found..

"Alpine Valley Music Theater is a 37,000 capacity amphitheater, in East Troy, Wisconsin. The seasonal venue was built in 1977 and it features a characteristic wooden roof, covering the 7,500-seat pavilion and a sprawling lawn."

To Eddy: Last time you were here in Halifax NS was 05 and you said you'd come back? Any idea when that might be? It doesn't appear to be in 2011...yet but it could be. Make all your fans on the extreme east coast proud to be Pearl Jam fans. (Side note, i asked the same question to Matt Good from the Matthew Good Band why he never comes east in his tours...his response was east to him is Toronto. Do all bands think this way?

Bands should reconize we here in the maritimes buy your merch and support you by travelling to other cities hundreds of miles away to see you on our own dime. Give a little love back and come out this way.

I know it's not as black and white as i make it seem so if you can't come visit and rock our azz's off ok but maybe change the tour announcement to say " Canada west & central Tour"

    Your still my favorite band.

The rooms I booked at Alpine Valley Resort are $642 flat fee for the 3 days as compared to PJ's awesome package of $1800 for the weekend. Great deal, huh. I guess PJ is getting a ton off of those package fees. Nice little hidden gem for them. I am still thinking of not going. It is just way too much money especially since they took down the only shows in the usa for 2011. Which means I'm sure they will be hitting the East Coast. I have to let Alpine Valley Resort know by Friday if I am keeping them. The deposit for them starts friday afternoon.
