Ok I'm guilty of this....on long cycling rides I have on many occasions thrown banana peels into the woods...only the woods. If no woods are around I'll store them in my jersey until I find some wooded patch.
I wonder IF I would STILL get a ticket for littering?

I don't know about the banana peel but if you wear those shorts on your long rides you definitely deserve a ticket

What justification do these people have?

Causing a fire, introducing more smoke into the air, littering......how can people think its ok to do this?

(This is not a knock on "responsible" smokers!)
This is a good positive OP but of course it will turn into an all out rag on.

I think they are not thinking.. at all... and awareness is the answer.

Perhaps some of the tax dollar collected from cig sales can go to a campaign to bring that ...
most especially the danger of forest fires.
They could maybe bring back Smokey the Bear and call him Non-Smokey the Bear

To add to the thread, I dislike it when some smokers do this. I think it's plain rude. Use a jar with some sand and a lid if you need to smoke in your car. My husband did when he smoked, and when the jar was full, he would throw it out. That's a lot more manageable to clean out of your car.

On a funny note, I have a close friend who did this when he used to smoke. Until he realized that because he had a hatchback, the butts were actually following aerodynamics and landing in his trunk space via the opened rear window. The burn marks and ashes were insane!! Now that's instant karma, baby!!:lol::lol:

Also, every dog owner should Poop and Scoop, regardless the size of the dog. It's still poop, no matter the size of it.

Also, I am not a smoker. Just second hand when my husband smoked...we have both been smoke-free for 8 years now.

I hope he didn't throw the full jar out the window!
    :)

:lol::lol: Definitely not! He also hated the cig butts out the window and when people dump the full ashtray out in parking areas. Although, one guy who did that in our area was busted...because it led the cops right to him...for murder. Serious.
Also...people need to start farting in bags..I am so sick of smelling ass. And please don't pee in the ocean either, Eddie surfs in it.

:lol::lol: I need a smilie that cries when it laughs!!

I love when a small crime leads to the apprehension of a big criminal!

They should do some sort of PSA:

Throw a butt out the window, and we'll throw YOURS in jail!

Whenever I see a still-lit cigarette bouncing on the road ahead of me and I can't avoid driving over it, I always get the feeling that somehow my car will catch on fire and blow up. It's irrational, but I will always have that fear.

The thing that disgusts me the most is the fast food debris that constantly ends up in my front yard. People who litter should have the trash they discard shoved up their asses. Making them pay fines is never going to stop them, so I think uncivilized punishments are going to have to be applied. Some litterers may enjoy this, however.

I love every complaint about how someone hates another persons bad habits. Because for every fault you find in someone, YOU do something thats bugs that shit out of someone else. You are just too stubborn and self-righteous to realize it. The world is an imperfect place. Get used to it and turn the radio up and ROCK ON !!!!!!!

messy rooms lead to mice, cockroaches, mold, mildew, bedbugs etc. etc ets. And all of those things lead to a poorer quality of life and and bring down the value of a home and in turn bring down the property value of surrounding homes and the entire neighborhood. And then will soon spread to the next street and the next town over. Until eventually the world becomes infested by the vermin that started because of your messy room.

I agree that throwing butts out of cars is bad, but has it been pointed out yet that you are following in a car that is far more polluting than a butt?

    Good point.

BTW, I also pick up my little dog's logs. Every. Single. Time. Responsible owners do this.
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!
