What justification do these people have?

Causing a fire, introducing more smoke into the air, littering......how can people think its ok to do this?

(This is not a knock on "responsible" smokers!)

Smokers who throw/drop cigarettes out their car window "should be murdered"

I don't know why I get riled about this topic but it is one thing I wish the cops would look for more...I dole out my street justice when I see it....which usually involves me being mad in my car, but at least I am sending them angry thoughts

They don't make ash trays in new cars anymore which is society's way of trying to get people to stop smoking. They should go after big tobacco if they really cared instead of all the dumb smoking laws trying to act like they care.

god i wish I could...I just don't understand the idea that it is okay to throw trash on the street...I feel the same way when I see garbage in the ditch of a highway...what the fuck is wrong with people? how hard is it to simply just put it in the next trash can you see?

Last night was a rather nice night so I went out golfing and as I am strolling along the edge of the golf course boundary looking for balls I see nothing but fucking beer bottles and trash...is it really that hard to just throw things away...

It's the fact that people are dumb enough to smoke is even more retarded.

They don't make ash trays in new cars because 75% of people don't use them because they don't smoke. I guess they should put cleat cleaners on the edge of every car because my kids play sports...

Anyway - why is it always business and gov't job to take care of people? People should take better care of themselves.

And these people should be given a ticket with a steep fine.

I agree government and business should not be mandated to care for things that people should be doing themselves but I'm just saying don't go passing laws to act like you care about non-smokers and then profiting through taxation of an obviously dangerous product. The facts are there that smoking kills people or causes a tremendous expense in healthcare so why not simply go after the source of the problem, corporate tobacco, when if your goal is to get people to stop smoking really.

Yes!! And, there are many municipalities that do have such laws and enforce them a lot more strictly.

NYC has an extremely strict law on this.

To add to the thread, I dislike it when some smokers do this. I think it's plain rude. Use a jar with some sand and a lid if you need to smoke in your car. My husband did when he smoked, and when the jar was full, he would throw it out. That's a lot more manageable to clean out of your car.

On a funny note, I have a close friend who did this when he used to smoke. Until he realized that because he had a hatchback, the butts were actually following aerodynamics and landing in his trunk space via the opened rear window. The burn marks and ashes were insane!! Now that's instant karma, baby!!:lol::lol:

Also, every dog owner should Poop and Scoop, regardless the size of the dog. It's still poop, no matter the size of it.

Also, I am not a smoker. Just second hand when my husband smoked...we have both been smoke-free for 8 years now.
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!

Like Eddie once said about all the leaders of the world. "Lock them in a room, throw away the key and let the people figure things out". Same rule applies. I smoke but I also work outdoors and my pockets are full of butts when I get home. My shorts may smell a little but at least the earth is a cleaner place. Last but not least as Bruce Willis once said "Kill em all and let God sort them out":lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The quotation marks made that comment totally acceptable

When I was about 14, I tossed a butt on the ground (I was walking) as a cop drove by...he lectured me for like 20 minutes about biodegradability of the insulation used in cig filters...at the time it seemed ridiculous (the words climate change, global warming, etc were not in our lexicon yet)....despite the lecture, it took me a years, afair bit of education (ie: someone pointing out common sense), and an attitude change before I clued in to how wrong it was to toss my butts....I think part of the problem is that people don't realize the impact because they think it's something so small and insignificant....
So glad I quit that shit...two years in a couple weeks.

I got 2 tickets in less than 3 years for that....cost me $1600 the second time and that cured me I havn't smoked in my car now for about 4-5 years now ...and my truck don't smell like an ashtray, funny how that works oh and if there is no ashtray or trashcan around I will put the spent cig back in the pack, I'll bet if all these cig tossers got nailed like I did they too would change their habbit :D and BTW when you go to court it's a littering ticket and I saw a gal get fined for throwing a gum wrapper out her window..back then the first offense was $350 ...she was pissed screaming it was just a gum wrapper !!! and I had to close my eyes and cover my mouth to keep from laughing.

I find it funny that smokers always crack their window when they are driving... but non-smokers are supposed to deal with the smoke in an enclosed room... They should keep their damn windows up if it doesn't bother them. ;)

And I agree on the tossing of butts out of the window, keep your trash in your car and dispose of it properly.
