great show as always...however, the rose bowl show i saw in 09 was much better...something seemed off and i think it had to do with the crowd...although the ga was pretty rockin', the rest of the crowd was somewhat subdued and i think it was reflected in bono's enthusiasm

one note, they brought Paul McGuinness on stage (his birthday was the 16th) and according to bono that was the first time ever

they mixed it up just a little, why I always try to go to both nights of a two night stand.

Up next is Baltimore Wednesday, June 22. Tempted, as that is definitely within driving distance for me.......hmmm

yes, that is the set list I would like to see!

Chris - plenty of cheap GA tickets for Pittsburgh show on StubHub - below face value. Just saying...

I haven't seen U2 since 01 but the way that stage set up looks to me it's just ughh , I mean just give me a stage with a BAND and amps man they are today's Rolling Stones

I hear you. I had GA tickets to see them at Gillette Stadium in Mass about a year and a half ago, but sold them. I have seen them 4 times and each time it was in a 20,000 person venue (The Garden (new not old) in Boston). The shows were incredible and I just didn't want to taint my impression of them by seeing them in a stadium. I have seen a few stadium shows and they just didn't do it for me. Plus, not a huge fan of their new material.

Hopefully they don't do stadiums from here on out.

Isn't that what the stage setup is mostly like? A rather empty stage with the band on it and some amps. And oh, a huge video screen too, I admit.

And here's your challenge. Design a stage/setup so the band can play to a full stadium (i.e. 360 degrees, with the seats behind the band occupied too). No, arenas won't do, because 7 million tickets sold would result in about 350 shows if we take a high average of 20,000 per arena.

They might prefer to do arenas, but that's just not possible at the moment. This is what Adam Clayton said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone:
I imagine everyone will get away from this tour and get a bit of breathing space, then in two or three years time, they'll be able to do it again. You have the same set of questions: "Do you want to play in a stadium?" "No, we don't want to play in a stadium." "Do you want to play in an arena?" "Yeah, we like playing in arenas." "But if you play in arenas, it will take you this long to get around the world, if you play in stadiums, you can do it over a couple of summers," and the debate will start.

I can't recall my whole conversation with Bono, but here's the best of my recollection: He said the next tour will be smaller, indoor arenas. Private shows. They will play the obscure songs that they either never played live or haven't played live in awhile (something like that), especially songs off Pop. Like Gone, Please, Staring at the Sun. Then I told him I wanted to hear Acrobat live and he smiled and his eyes lit up and he said "That's a great song, but it's hard to play live." And then I said, well, I just love any song with Dream Out Loud. I'm all about Dream Out Loud. Prior to this he also chatted about Anaheim 2. I think he said they changed the setlist because the venue was not really 360 but the previous night's setlist was designed for a 360 venue so they wanted to try something different for night 2 (something like that). Well, it worked!! I haven't seen a show that good since Zooropa Dublin 1993 or ZooTV Boston St. Patty's Day 1992.

that last sentence really bums me out...that's why i should always go to both shows :(

A couple of my friends are on the front rail at Glastonbury, not sure how early they had to get there, but I am sure they will have been there at least 12 hours by the time U2 goes on.
