Actually, I've heard that Coheed and Cambria were winning over most of the crowds that
they played at. Its so sad that their bass player had a relapse. These are the nicest 4 band
members I have ever been around. Always take pics, sign autographs, and put on a killer show.
I hope those that got to see them gave them a legitimate chance.
Not only does their music suck but a member of their band is stupid enough to risk robbing a pharmacy and possibly getting booted from playing with Soundgarden every night. These guys don't even deserve to be up there.

Like I said, I did see them, gave them a legitimate chance, and I was very 'meh' on them, they weren't terrible, but they didn't grab me and make me want to tell all my friends about the show.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
Saw Soundgarden at the ROCK in Newark this past Fri. This was the 4th show I had seen at the Rock (including PJ), and I had always been impressed with the sound. Shit, the Rock even made Steve Winwood (opening for Tom PettY) Sound bad ass..
On Fri night the Soundgarden show was just plain terrible. The Guitars sounded like one big mesh of noise..Cornell had the echo on the mike the entire night....Such a disappointing evening.
There are two kinds of women, one that takes your strength, and one that gives you strength
coheed and cambria are fucking terrible. sounds like Arcade fire after huffing a tank of helium. And I didn't think it could get worse than Arcade Fire. OK, maybe Vampire Weekend........
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

I agree, neither are very good but they don't sound anything alike.
I saw them last year in Vegas. I had done some research and listened to them enough to know some of their songs and their history. I had fun at the show, but it didn't change my life by any means. Maybe there was no "connection", but I did not leave the concert thinking "man, i've got to get more of their music". I was not dissappointed, but not impressed either. I wouldn't see myself going out of my way to catch another one of their shows. Everyone has different tastes in music though, and it's cool that you are passionate about them.
So I didn't get C&C at my soundgarden show, but Mars Volta began to grow on me -- song or two I'll pick up, think they've got one album I might just buy actually.
But I wanted to echo the complaints on Soundgarden's Mix -- the SF Civic Center can produce some amazing sound, but Thursday night wasn't to be. I was direct center about halfway between the stage and soundboards and first thing I noticed right away was that they hung the PAs WAAAY too far out to the sides, as if they were playing some huge festival stage. Lot of BOOM in the middle, lot echo (and not just Chris's deliberate delay).
The kick drum was the loudest sound all night, followed by the drums in general (but not cymbals) and then the bass, nothing really wrong with that, nice pounding sound -- but KIM WAS NONEXISTANT! Chris had a few tones that would elevate him in the mix, but overall, the guitars were just lost -- songs like Burden In My Hand and Head Down that start with guitar gave you a clue where those guitars were.
When you could hear Kim, he had a nice thick tone going, but it just blended into the overall sound so much that it became lost -- and when he stepped up for a solo or anything, nada... couldn't hear a damn thing over the drums and bass.
We had a blast, total mayhem of a show, audience went wild, lots of great music, but I came away a bit dissappointed in the sound... I had thought it was just a bad mix for Mars Volta being the opener, but no, it was tragic throughout.
We went to the Soundgarden show up in Toronto, they are loud as hell, and they were on top of their game to a sellout crowd. Toronto was hands down their best show, and the crowd was fucking stoked!!!!!!!
The opening acts are just that, the opening acts. C&C played well in Toronto, but not to the point where I would say some of the bullshit I have been reading on here. And guess what; no fucking body up at the Canadian Molson Amphitheater was talking about the opening act.
Unlike the Pearl Jam shows we have been to (7 of them to be precise), all of the instruments were turned up, and no detuning on any of the songs for Chris Cornell. He sounded awesome, and has more than enough of his range back to power over the top. We didn't think he could still do that, but we know now that he can.
You could definitely notice Matt Cameron more when he is turned up, and when he is extremely turned down when playing with Pearl Jam. You could feel the energy at the opening show of the tour, especially from Matt, because he was bringing heat.
My girlfriend and I are going up to Toronto for the two Pearl Jam shows in September, and if Eddie is up to it, maybe they can turn up Matt Cameron's drums (along with the guitars of Stone, Mike and Jeff.)
Soundgarden performs a more hard rock and true grunge sound which seems to escape many of you folks hating on them here. We don't get that sound from Pearl Jam anymore, unfortunately. The guys (Chris, Matt, Kim and Ben) have stayed true to their sound.
As Eddie said in the Evenflow video: "this is a fucking rock concert!!!!!!"
And one last note to PJ: TURN MATT'S DRUMS UP WHEN WE SEE YOU GUYS UP IN TORONTO IN SEPTEMBER, PLEASE......

My next Pearl Jam show will be my 50th

As for worse....Have you heard Gogol Bordello?
