Poor Soundgarden - Must read

I feel bad for soundgarden for the first 10 dates of their tour. Most people will be walking away from that show talking about Coheed and Cambria instead of Soundgarden. I got to give Soundgarden credit for bringing them along. Coheed is known to have the best live show around. I know, I've seen them 5 times and just watched them on their current tour. I'm pretty sure this is going to ebe an eye opener for those are not familiar with this band.

    Thanks for the laugh!

    indeed

i was thinking we were gonna get mars volta in CT
insted we get Coheed and Cambria...really?!?!

I'da been happy with ANY of the other choices.... QOTSA, Mastadon, or even Meat Puppets...

    But Coheed and Cambria
Might as well be My Bloody Valentine

Any thoughts of spending $150 a ticket to see SG are out the window now.

The Mars Volta would slay Coheed like Machete. I feel bad for Matt. He has to listen to Cornell TRY to sing Jesus Christ Pose.

Unfortunately, I cannot be there but I really like the fact that they choose Queens of the Stone Age and Meat Puppets as their opening bands. 8-)

cornell on his worst day sounds better that either of those singers. Coheed and mars volta have THE worst singers around. Really terrible high pitched uninteresting voices IMO. Queens of the stone age however, now there's a real fucking opening band.

i would prefer any of the other openers over coheed for the boston show. especially mastodon.

Trust me, a lot of people just bash Coheed and Cambria cause they have never seen or heard them. Once you see them live, then I know that a lot of the opinions around here will change. Trust me. And believe me when I say this, Coheed and Cambria will steal the show. I promise.

Not to bash the OP, why does it seem every 6 months to a year there's a thread from someone about how AMAZING this band is. One dude started several threads.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

When I see shit like this all I can think is what a fuckin' shame. With a Scott Weiland type voice or even a Maynard this woud sound good. I have never been a fan of the whinny emo sounding singers.

the singer from The Mars Volta is actually pretty fuckin amazing if u ask me. Not many people can hit the high notes like he does. But it is an acquired taste, so i respect your opinion. Whether u like TMV or not... you cant deny the band is talented as hell.

If you have a hard time getting into TMV's music...cuz it is kinda out there...I cannot recommend highly enough the band At the Drive In. It's more "normal" music so you might find the singer's voice a little more tolerable in that band.

However, Coheed and Cambria - they get filed under the "no talent ass clowns" category in my opinion

In addition...I would just like to say that this thread title is COMPLETELY MISLEADING!!! I came here thinking something horrible happened to the band or one of its members...that maybe the tour was off...

Glad that is not the case, and also glad this thread is providing my day with lots of entertainment.

I will agree that TMV are very talented musicians, no doubt...but that voice just hits a nerve. I SG last year at lolla and TMV a few years back after francis the mute...SG was far better in my book, and that's ok if you disagree. Just can't believe that Coheed or the Volta would be able to trump SG live.

The Queens are by far the best live rock band being discussed in this thread. They harken back to the 70's and the way rock is supposed to be. With that said, these guys were great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqsNR5pI6bw. Even strung out Cedric sounds better than Cornell. Cornell behind a rock band doesn't cut it for me. Only with studio wizardry
