im a huge bright eyes fan, and he changed my life, but naming yourself after one of the biggest acts in indie rock, is hardly a unique or countercultural move. To say you are a fan his, and to actually have a username that reflects that, is that supposed to be edgy and unique? I'd look in the mirror before casting aspersions. again, glass house much?

ugh...listen critcsaremylife78....it's a name on a message board. i wasn't really trying to make an artistic statement. further more, how do you know that the word Lifted is referring to Bright Eyes? just cause i'm a fan and that's the first word of one of their album titles?...you are right though. good call.

ive never really understood how people can be so cruel on the net. when i posted about p4k the original time, why didnt you 3 say, or post "thats fine, but ive never been a fan of that site. my suggestion would be...". why go personal and call me names and stuff, and then continue it even when i asked you to stop?

i understand as broad as this genre is, especially in 2011, that not everyone will agree on stuff, but i never understood the personal aspect of it. i called you vindictive only after you went after me.

why do people feel like they need to not only disagree, but cut down the opinion and murder it, flog it?

so when in there do i say i do that stuff only because its the cool or in or hip thing? to call someone a poseur is to imply they are engaging in actions to fit in, to be like everyone else etc...

yep, so the proper thing is always, quote someone. look at their post history and quote them. i am online, nevermind talking to me in a human, kind manner, lets just assume things. whats that saying about assuming?

and i think in that post you quoted i talked about "we", as in the hipster/indie movement/scene. i think a big cue would have been the term "we", thats a big tip off.

i guess ive always sort of believed in the mantra you get to know someone before you judge them, and even when you do know someone, you sort of taper your judgements based on stuff. The whole dont judge others or dont prejudge others, dont assume you know peoples life story, maybe thats foreign to you, but its very important to me.

Generally as a rule of thumb, for any other genre other than indie, once the scene becomes a household word and becomes commercialized, and when parents know about the bands and listen to them as well, the scene dies. it becomes stale, and whatnot. indie is a rare exception.

honestly i think you are the only one who is being "touchy" in this argument. maybe you shouldn't take it so personally, and maybe if you don't like something, you should just take your own advice and ignore it. i don't think we'd still be having this conversation if you did that.

anyway, i do agree, that post about the suv driving people wasn't really much of an attack on johnny....but it's not just specific instances like that. it's just what you have to say in general that tends to rub some people the wrong way. maybe i should start requesting that people get banned everytime i don't like something they have to say about a post i make. childish if you ask me.
