  • You are right. I look forward to meeting you at Tampa

    Same here!
  • It's dirty, infected with crime and sexual diseases and I just hate even being in that damn city. (No offense to anyone who lives in Jax. I met some really cool people.)

this is the funniest post I've seen in a while! thank you for the laughs!
  • I lived up there for a few years. Most of the people I encountered where ignorant assholes without a hope at all. It's dirty, infected with crime and sexual diseases and I just hate even being in that damn city. (No offense to anyone who lives in Jax. I met some really cool people.)

Wow. Where did you hang out? Hopefully you got out disease-free:)

Well of course.. we all know Miami is in South Florida.. Ohwait... you said Cuba. ;)

My room. And I did. Whenever I go back (family) I feel that god damn city sucking the life out of me. And not in the good way.
  • So was it your room that was full of crime, ignorance, and sexual disease? haha...just kidding. Sounds like hell...and a lot like how I used to feel. We can both agree that PJ playing in WPB and Tampa is totally cool...and that staying away from Jville is something to be thankful for.

No joke. I think the only concerts that sell out in Jax are country shows.

Think about how you would feel if your favorite band completely disregarded your region of the States without any real justification being offered? I think you can see why some were so upset. I'm a little unsure by what you mean about teens listening to Country and then attending their shows? Do you mean PJ shows or country shows?

Country shows, yes yes, exceptions excpetions to every rule we know. I spent a couple months in Tennesse, it was certainly a different vibe amongst the kids. Let me see here, I am being skipped in 08, I was skipped in 96 (you were not) and I refuse to bitch like the South did in 06. People swore off the band, told them to F-off and said they would never go to a PJ show. Unacceptable behavior!. Really, other than 06, has the South been skipped?

You said: Think about how you would feel if your favorite band completely disregarded your region of the States without any real justification being offered?

Reply: There was justification, it is expensive, abnormally time consuming and PJ have made references to not being accpeted well. Yes, again, there are diehards in the South (who do deserve shows, maybe not every single time) but all in all, the Rock stations and fans (rock or country, top 40) would rather see someone else or do something else.. Boston, New York Philly and other northern locations would rather see aband like PJ or some new indie cred band. Not just the hipsters either, a lot of people support these kinds of acts. It's a fact. Maybe it has something to do with the wonderful weather you guys have, so instead of going to sporting events or rock concerts you go fishing. Who knows, but it is a good justification.

they have no excuse to skip TX. while it's not really in 'the south' IMO, they could schedule 2 to 3 shows here and sell very well. all of the '00 shows sold out from what i remember, save for maybe lubbock. do the math though, college town in the middle of nowhere with a big ass arena. it's cool to play places like that every once in a while. no one could convince me that they can't sell what they 'need' to in austin, d/fw, san antone, or houston. if they EVER give an explanation, hopefully it's legit. otherwise, save the BS.
  • y does anyone care if they didn't sellout in the south?

you finally get some shows and you can't even drum up enough interest to crash the server....pathetic

just remember this next time you start another pettition/whine thread

for cryin out loud if you just give the Band long enough they will take care of you! They days of a tour every summer are over, and album a year over! So when they choose to bless us with a tour just be happy they are playing any shows at all! Why would anyone in a business decide to go tour in a place to lose money and play half empty venues?

just be happy FL, SC, and the east are getting more shows, go if you can, don't bitch if you can't.

edit: we don't care of they sell out or not, we are just tired of people bashing the band for making a sound business decision

Coming from a Tampa resident, that pretty much hits the nail right on the head. I flew to Summerfest in 2006 and Lollapalooza in 2007. It sucked having to travel out of state to see them, but imagine if you lived in a country they never tour. Things could be worse. I'm always driving to Atlanta to see concerts. That seems to be the farthest south a lot of bands are willing to tour.

There's a big market down here for two genres, country and 80's metal. It's unfathomable. If AC/DC opened for Brooks and Dunn, scalpers could charge $2,000 a ticket.

When there is a "tour" the tickets are easier to get because there thousands not a couple hundred avaliable like the EV shows of the VIC.

    Absolutely.

I said many times beofre, these will be a lot easier to get than VIC, Ed Solo, etc.

the only one that may have probs is MSG.
