Well the allocations seemed to be random to me... Front row stalls night one.... Front of the dress circle night two.... Damn that dress circle is a scary place...

You could feel it rocking as people walked. No wonder the ushers were saying "No Standing or Dancing".

Anyone got 2 spare tix for sunday :) I'll take one if you have got one :)

Tickets in various rows again tonight, including dress circle.
    Are they seniority based??....
    They never were.

Not according to the announcement I remember seeing.

No one really meets Ed just by having good tickets, consistently or otherwise.

It just happens. Other than the people hanging around venues afterwards for ridiculous periods of non-drinking time and the stalkers.

I gave Ziggy my mobile no. during intermission at Newcastle and she was supposed to ring me after the show re drinks and she never did. If she'd rung me I might have been in the group who met Ed too.

  • It seems odd..Shouldn't all the 10C seats be good ones? I mean, the worse seats should be for the folk who don't pay for 10C membership..It's supposed to be a priveledge (sp?) that comes with the higher price paid, not luck of the draw...And the only way to be positive tix are not based on seniority is to make it first come, first serve. If you are going to put in the effort to be first on the phone (or online) to buy, then you should get the best seat..right? I dunno..I appreciate all 10C does for us..but still always thought their method of selling tickets was off the mark, majorly.

Agreed Flutter Girl, which is why I'm not renewing my membership in November.

I see it this way: we pay for good PEARL JAM seats. Any side project tickets are a bonus and we know ahead of time they will not be up to the usual standard.

Happy to be in the door.

Well said Paul...I like the fact I have a chance to purchase the tickets before the general public- getting in the door is the main objective. Great seats are a bonus. 10C don't have control over the seating in the venues, and are only allocated a % of seats. I can see what people are saying in reference to paying top dollar, but I don't just pay membership for tickets.

  • Oh..my bad..thought it was discussing PJ tix..well still, my opinion stands, just for PJ tickets :?

With the new higher cost for membership, but still not having my issues with tickets sorted, I'm considering not renewing my membership either, cos afterall, the number one reason I became a member was to have access to the best tickets..Isn't that the main reason most of us join a band's fan club? Which mean's ticket's should be a priority, not what charity a band is pushing, or where you can get your merch signed by it's creator, or even what the fan club website looks like (all good things, but ticket's should be priority).

I mean, look at Stone Temple Pilots..Their fan club tickets are in the first 2 sections, with a few in the bleachers for those who prefer that. You can buy up to 3 tix per member (as I usually go with 2 others, this is quite helpful), and it's first come, first serve. All other fan clubs I've been a member of are similar to that. I had a friend get better seats, buying thru the regular sale, than a mutual friend of ours got this last time buying thru the fan club. It's making me wonder if maybe I should forget buying thru the pre-sale when they come down here next time.

The worst part is not knowing. I can't call up and be told where my seats would be, to determine if I want to go ahead and buy thru the pre-sale, or take my chances on the regular sale. Plus if I want to go with more than one person, we can't request seats next to each other when we each call it, like I've been able to do thru other club sales..

    It's just...for being a 'fan' club...when it comes to tickets, it's not very fan-friendly.

i'm not sure why they can't tell you where your seats are, but it's a nice little surprise when you do get to the show(for the most part). i can understand not getting them til the day of the show to make them harder to flip.

but i have never had a complaint about fan club tickets, having not got worse then 3rd row from the ten club, til the 09 tour when it was all G.A. and fan club tickets where a total of $50 more then the general public(not including ten club membership) for the "privilege" of getting in 15 minutes early, which doesn't really mean that much at a G.A. show when 10,000 other people can just push there way through and get just as good a spot as a ten clubber.

but yeah, add up the years of $25 a year, then ticket prices(sometimes more then general sales), for the total of 3 pearl jam tours where we were able to get ten club tickets to. i don't know if it all works out or not. for me i know it doesn't as i've only used my ten club membership to get tickets to 3 shows total. so i've spent $100 extra on top of actual ticket prices each for my 3 ten club tickets.

It just irks me that casual fans who have probably bought on the day through the ticketing sites might have scored front row tickets to the Eddie Vedder Australian shows and little old me who has been a big fan for 16 years or so and been a fan club member for 7 years gets stuck way back. Yes I know we were told they were going to be random ... but I didn't think it would be that random and I still assumed they would be close to the stage.

Also I don't have any use for the Singles because I don't have a record player. In fact I gave them all away last Wednesday night in Newcastle and they were used in the Fundraiser raffle. :)

hahah I can't even remember saying that to you. I was pretty hammered when I got there. Sorry EK! We just went back to the Clarendon Hotel....then stayed there for 1.5 hours then walked up the street in search of another pub....so I doubt you would have still been around anyway....if that's any consolation!
