I still maintain that at these shows if you're inside the venue then theirs really not a shit seat. They're small and intimate
The venue here is big, with a lot of seats out on the lawn out from under the cover. I know of one guy at least who bought thru 10C and got a lawn seat. And it was raining.
Even if they were to keep it random, they should, at least, still only provide seats in the best sections. Like I said, none of the other fan clubs I've been member of have had problem doing this, so I don't understand why 10C does..
I wonder how disabled seating would be. I know the venue down here does have wheelchair seats front and center, in addition to the seats a little further back..and I know those that are in the front row always go during the pre-sales..but most often, bands don't care enough to make sure disabled will have seats up front. Apparently being disabled means you aren't worthy of front row, or even section one or two, anymore :(
I wonder cos I'll be buying in Pensacola if they go there, and have no clue what that venue is like..with how bad my back has gotten, I'll severely regret it if I don't go in the wheelchair..

Does the Foo Fighters fan club do tickets for Dave Grohl solo? Does DMB do it for Dave solo? Does Metallica for James? NIN for Trent? U2 for Bono? Phish for Trey?
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!

id sit in the rain and watch ed
id sit outside a venue in the rain just to hear ed
your ten club ticket allows you presale to PEARL JAM
Eddie SOLO is not PEARL JAM
and not to be a total bitch
but why should disabled always get front row
in the venues across aus theirs disability seats in all areas
i know that makes me sound horrid but equal opputunity means everyone should be able to get front row
makes much more sense to live in the present tense
i think Flutter Girl is talking about pearl jam tickets, not Ed solo.
she said
"I wonder cos I'll be buying in Pensacola if they go there, and have no clue what that venue is like"
so she is talking about a possible pearl jam show that hasn't even gone on sale yet, and no Ed solo shows were in venues with outdoor grass areas. so again she is referring to pearl jam.
yea..sorry, I forgot to specify Pearl Jam..Ed didn't have any solo shows anywhere near here..now THAT is the ultimate in suckness.
missisles- I'm not saying all disabled in the front..just some. Like the venue down here..There are a few seats for wheelchairs in the first couple of rows in the center section, but there are also regular seats there too..
Only one other venue has had w/c seating in section 1 or 2, but even with them it was on the side making section 2 pointless as when everyone stands, as they normally do during concert, all you see is their behinds from down there in the chair. At the Cruzan, not only is it mixed, but it means that folks behind the w/c seats in rows 3 and 4 also have some of the best seats cos they don't have people actually standing in front of them..so it makes for more people having the best in the house with excellent view..
but yea..I mean it's nice just to get in. But if you are going to get nose bleed seats, you should only have to pay nose bleed prices. Some of us are broke, and paying a premium, plus the annual fan club fee, stings when you know the fella sitting in front of you paid a hell of a lot less for his seat cos he bought it thru the regular ticket sale, not thru the fan club. I mean, I'm thankful for all 10C does, but that is not a free pass to screw me over.
Hi Fluttergirl, this thread was originally started because some of us were not happy with the seats 10 club allocated us for the recent Eddie Vedder Australian solo shows and I agree with a lot of what you have to say. Good luck with getting a good view at any future PJ shows you go to.

i do hope you get good seat
i just hold some anger from a personal experience in relation to a person in a wheel chair and their demanding of equal rights then their demanding of special priority seating at events
then will go back to demanding equal rights.
it makes me angry :(
i honestly meant no offence

I woulda gave them a good knock upside the head. My mom was disabled my whole life (it's actually her chair I've been using lately)..There are some things she'd complain about, like douchebags who take handicap spaces who aren't handicap, and are obviously clueless at how it's not possible to get a w/c out of a vehicle if you have to park in a regular space with no access lane..I even know of a lady who is a performer for cirque du soliel, and this bitch will take those spaces..Her right leg is in better shape than my whole body! And there is the issue of not bein able to see if someone is standing in front of you (and God forbid they fart..)..but generally, she didn't like the sort like you had to deal with, and raised me to be the same way..
The biggest issue with concerts is people stand up the whole time. That's a pretty penny to pay just to hear the music. Something I could do free on the radio..I just want to be able to get a chance at the good seats too..Esp if I'm shelling out a lot of money I really shouldn't be spending for it..You know- get what you pay for..If I pay $150 for a seat, I don't wanna get stuck in the $10 section cos of a random draw. That's a total rip off. And we let them get away with it. Even if they can't control what seats the venue doles out to them, they do control how much they are charging us, cos out of that $150 we pay the fan club for the seat, the fan club is still only paying 10 bucks to the venue or ticketmaster.
And the bands have a lot of say in the seating too, if they wanted to. I went to one concert with my mom, and we had seats in section 1..and we did fully inform them she was in a chair when buying. When we got there, the folks that work there said she couldn't sit there, claiming it was a fire hazard (nevermind that how she was positioned made sure people can pass easily, even people sitting in our row. They sent her all the way to the back of the ground floor. She saw nothing. At the end, the sound crew that she was sitting next to questioned why she was sat there, and after telling them they said they wish they had known cos they would have informed the band and the band would have made sure she got put right up in front of the stage as they had done before. And I still maintain the fan club has more control than they admit as well. As said, all the other fan clubs I've been member to have never had a problem getting all the pre-sale seats in sections 1 and 2.
I guess it's just past experiences and lost money, that I didn't really have to lose, that has made me bitter about it :(

i didnt give a shit
it still sounded gorgeous
(ps these werent 10c. my failed attempt at ticketwhore)

still
not to be a bitch
but why should disables necessarily get better seating then others if its seated venue
i know how bitchy this makes me sound
but
everyones always on about equal right and blah blah blah
so
equal rights for all with seating allocation
