Another place I haven't seen mentioned is West Street Grill:
http://www.weststreetgrille.org/
Some of the other places are probably better options, but it should be considered, especially for the location.
There is also the Kinsale, which is a bit of a further walk.0 -

After the bar, Beantown has a big back room with pool tables, but more importantly a private side room (pretty big) that can be reserved for free, which would be perfect for a pre-party.
Hub Pub is actually smaller. Also, Sidebar is not closed, the store front next to it is closed.
As someone who has frequented these three bars on numerous occassions, Beantown is the better of the three....especially for handling a function.
beantown pub is pretty close too

No. Park in the Common for relatively cheap...also behind the Boston Common movie theater there are a few cheap lots (close to the Opera House).
For real cheap, try and find a parking meter spot (up Tremont past the common, or on some of the side streets). You will have to feed the meter for a few hours, but then it shuts off at 8pm for the rest of the night.
Or park outside the city at a commuter lot and take the Green Line to Park Street.0 -

Where were you last week???? You could have saved me a trip!!
Without reserving a function room (we don't have enough people to justify or fundraising stuff) the Beantown Pub bar area is smaller unless we play pool. It gets really crowded and I was also taking that into consideration.
Sidebar was closed at 2 pm on Saturday...
I am down to changing it, just someone make the decision and have CrazyBreed post it on the front page.Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.... (Voltaire)0 -

With all the debate and addition of new possible spots, I imagine a decision will be finalized by next Monday.
This weekend we rock Portland0 -
Fuck it!
In light of what Taft has said and by location, price & size i think Beantown Pub looks to be the a better spot than Hub Pub.So i will change the front page of this thread and make this our meet up spot.
it has pool tables, beer, decent food and is around the corner from the Opera house
this is it! no more changes!! Final destination! alert your friends & family!

I work literally two blocks from this place. If we want to try to reserve the private room (which I hear is free?), I could stop by there today. Sounds like this bar gets pretty crowded with the after-work rush, so it might be a good idea...but I don't think they have pool tables in there. Do we have any idea how many people might show up?*Does not include encore of Garden and Leash.0 -
I had dinner at that Wendy's before the Orpheum show in '94...and upon walking back up Bromfield St. to the Orpheum encountered Jeff at the back alley entrance signing autographs.Danimal wrote:Can we have it at Wendy's? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease...
Wendy's it is then!!!!This weekend we rock Portland0 -

there is no official head count but it would seem there would be enough to fill a private room.
so if you want to try and reserve one go for it.0 -
