Baseball is back fellas, this is awesome.

This is what has me excited!

Yeah, man. Going to be a fun season. Who's your team?

Minnesota Twins. I started going to games (about 15 of them) in 1987 when I was seven years old. The club won the World Series and I have been hooked for the last 23 years.

Not sure who your 4th is, but if its the Rays, you need to include Baltimore, making it 5 well run teams. Their team on paper this year looks much improved and we all saw what Buck Showalter did with a bad team for part of a year. The AL East this year is going to be so fun to watch. By far the best division in all of baseball.

Funny you say that. My 4 was everyone aside from Baltimore. I was thinking about saying 5 and including the O's but any team owned by Peter Angelos is tough to be considered "well run". Buck is certainly going to help, but it looks like Weiters, while young, may not live up to the hype, we will see though. And Matsuz might not be as great as expected. Can't blame a team for missing on prospects, most do the majority of the time, but the prospects, Angelos and the 6,000 fans a game does no make the future look too bright. Agreed for the most part though.

Nice, hopefully you are a little more rational than the Twins fans that were around last ALDS, they had the Twins sweeping the Yanks and talked quite a bit of shit. You weren't around then, right? I almost moved to Minneapolis out of college but chose Philly instead because of the location and my family, hear it's a great city though. Would love to get out there and see the new stadium. Stick around for the season, some good baseball talk and some heated arguments around here.

I am rational, but I am also a fan. I have actually been on this board since 2003, so I was around. I just don't get myself involved in those pointless arguments. The Twins need to win a playoff round or two before fans talk shit about the Yankees. Minneapolis is a great city. The new ballpark is spectacular. I love it here. By the way, it isn't the Yankees that I can't stand, the White Sox are the Twins' biggest rival. Should be a great season.

I actually have to go to minneapolis for work the week of 4/18. I'll have to see if the twins are home at all that week. I'd love to check out a game at the new park.

The Twins rotation just isn't good enough to compete in the AL. It's Liriano and a bunch of average starters. That might be good enough to win the cesspool that is the AL Central, but it ain't getting them anywhere come playoff time.

Go if you can. The stadium is fantastic.

I definitely want to get out there and see the stadium, this year it's Wrigley for me for out of town games.

This Yankees fan enjoyed his time at Target Field

Yeah, it might have gone a little overboard last ALDS, was fun though. Twins have had a rough go of it with the Yanks in the playoffs. I like the Twins, I like Gardenhire, I like Mauer, seems like a class act organization. I don't like Pavano or Morneau, bitter about Morneaus MVP. Have heard nothing but great things about Minneapolis, was very close to moving there. Yeah, going to be a fun season, finally have my Yankees packages back.

They're in Baltimore for four games the week I'll be there. Kind of ironic since I just moved down to that area.

Oh well...that could be a possible future phils trip

Yeah man, you definitely do. Me and my buddies lost our saturday package when they moved to the new stadium but I was able to get a Sunday pack this year. Pumped. Should be fun. It's a big stadium.

Yeah, it is. It's shuuge. What I got out of it was that it was really really really new looking. I had a good time. I had the equivalent of my Sunday tix at The Bank there, and boy, am I glad to be in Philly - the diffrence was mine are $24(that's this year's price) and there they were $50 in '09(I'm sure they're a few dollars more now).

Yeah, I will admit that I love the intimacy of the old place but staying at the old place wasn't an option so I am perfectly happy with what they built. It is fucking big though. You went that first memorial day against the Phillies, right? Good weekend. Was definitely brand new then, feel like it has been broken in a bit since, but I am sure it looks exactly the same. I couldn't believe the difference in price when I moved to Philly. Tickets I was getting in the lower level outfield at CBP were the same as my shitty satruday package seats. I am paying nothing for what I got but have really shitty seats, just glad to be back in the building.

That's good to hear. Yeah, 'twas a good day. Well, except the loss. Drinking in the bar across the street, drinking in Times Square(can't remember the name of the bar now - Stout's maybe?), getting hammered on the train, etc. etc. Do you plan on doing that for the Sunday games? Taking the train up?

Speaking of which, I'm heading up there at the end of the month for a show, what do you think my best option is - drive up to Hoboken and take the train in from there, but run the risk of missing the last train, or drive to Princeton and take the train that I know will have a departure time past 1 am?

Yeah, was a fun day. That is the game I was at. Met Barkann and bullshitted with him for a while after the game, great fucking dude. Stout is right there by the garden, think I actually recommended that to fixer before the MSG show. Yeah, I will most likely be taking the train in, for the most part at least.

I actually have never driven to Hoboken and taken the PATH. If I am taking NJ Transit, I always do Princeton or Trenton. I think that is probably your best bet. I honestly don't usually leave late at night though, I tend to stay over at friends if it's going to be a late one. When I do leave, I do NJ Transit though. My options are always 1. Amtrak (depending on the current money situation) 2. NJ Transit 3. Bus (there is a late night MegaBus though). My go to option of late has been driving to Trenton or Princeton and taking the train in.

Ahh, stouts. I hit that place before the last two PJ shows at MSG.

cliff, weren't we supposed to meet there the one day before MSG 2? I met a bunch of collge buddies at stouts and ended up getting smashed. By the time slow Lukin came on I was crosseyed. I love NYC

haha, yeah, I just mentioned in the last post the I recommended that to you. Yeah, we were supposed to meet up but we took the fucking bus for some ungodly reason and got stuck in Lincoln Tunnel for 2 fucking hours. Took us 4 hours to get from Philly to New York. By the time we got there Stout had an outrageous line. We ended up at Tir na nog. Was so frustrated, I got pretty hammered myself. That slow version of Lukin was pretty sweet though. I thought that was a great fucking show. NY is a great time.

That's right...I remember you mentioning that you were stuck in traffic.

Slow Lukin was cool. and MSG is incredible.

Yeah, man. The Garden is great, I think my favorite sporting event there are Syracuse games, although I don't go to many Knicks or Rangers games.
