Im just worried about the demand...due to the small venues and no NYC show.
This scares me as well. I have a feeling the Boston show is going to sell out pretty fast. I'm hoping to get my hands on a roll call pre-sale password to increase my chances. I should really just join, not sure what I'm waiting for....
I would also like to say that this album is fantastic. I'm really digging "The Day is Coming" and "You Wanna Freak Out".
Is there a good version out there yet? One I have is the one that cuts You Wanna Freak Out off at 1:41...
Also, From the email they sent out to Roll Call peeps yesterday,
"New members must register by 11:59pm EST before the Roll Call on-sale to qualify for pre-order tickets"
Boston RC presale is on May 18 and MD RC presale is 5/31
You can only get 2 tix thru RC presale/pick up at will call day of show...
Oh I have a great version The song is only 3:20 long so you're not missing that much.
I think I'll have to jump on the Roll Call and purchase the box set at the same time. Seems well worth it to me.
2006: Albany

THAT I am not sure about yet... Maybe someone who already got some presale RC tix can enlighten us. Im hoping its more like PJ 10c tix than EV 10c tix. Meaning, seniority based seating/all the best seats in the house and not just random pickings throughout the venue. These aren't GA venues, so hopefully we have a better chance at getting better seats thru RC than general onsale.
Given the size of these venues....I believe the BOA in Boston only holds about 4,500 people...I'd say they're gonna go quick as hell...again, keeping in mind that MA would be the closest show to NYC, and that there will most likely be a Live Nation presale after the RC presale and before the general onsale... So it'll probly be slim pickins if any at all come general onsale time...

Just bought Tix to the Louisville Show. Our understanding it was seniority based, but I don't see how. I joined first opportunity and ended up on the back of the floor, not bad but still expected better. They gave you a pre-show code and that's how you bought tix.
"That's part of the curse: If you're gonna play the song, you better play it. I've tried to phone in "Jeremy" a few times, and it's tough. It doesn't work."
i think some of you guys are worried way too much about getting tickets to these shows. i actually joined roll call the first day, but honestly, it's not necessary for this tour. red rocks still isn't sold out, and that's an all general admission amphitheatre, and that date was announced when there weren't many others.
i went to merriweather last year, and they had a general admission pit in front of the stage. if you wanted to, you could've just hung out outside the venue and gotten ga pit tickets for face value before the show. basically, i wouldn't worry too much about this.....this band deserves demand like pj, but they certainly don't have it.
^ i was at MPP last year too, and that venue is about 3.5 times the size of the place they are playing in boston.
i see. well i am in unfamiliar with the boston venue. maybe i'm wrong in my judgement. just sayin. i've never had an issue getting good tickets to a my morning jacket show that i wanted to see, with the exception of radio city music hall in '08 i believe it was.
Bank Of America Pavillion is perfect for MMJ. One show isn't going to cut it though. Top 5 songs I need to hear on this tour as follows:Cobra, Masterplan,War Begun,Laylow and a full Run Thru. Death Is The Easy Way is up there though.
20 minute Cobra was one of the best songs I ever saw live, by any band. I need to hear a full Run Thru!!!

Steam Engine and Dondante are always a treat. I can never decide which song I'd rather hear.
I can't decide if I like this song better than Outta My System or not. I think Yim has resorted to ripping off Sponge Bob .Seriously it's the same song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deCqxEhaRsg

I don't hear that much of a similarity...I think it's actually some lost Beach Boys song. Has a Good Vibrations vibe.

I just can't get Outta My System outta my head. That said, I like it as much as 500 miles . One of their worst songs imo.
Can't wait to see them and neko case together in Atlanta
oh and can't wait to see them at Hangout festival next week
Where should I start w/ Neko Case???

Oh i love Neko. She is wonderful. I love all her stuff so it is hard to narrow it down
Album wise her two latest have been my favs Middle Cyclone & Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
If you just wan't a couple songs to check out:
I'm an Animal
Hold On
Deep Red Bells
Maybe Sparrow
Those are four of my favs
Thanks!!!
I was super impressed w/ Grace Potter after watching her open for MMJ in Holyoke last year, figured I'd prepare myself better for the opening band this time!!
Looks like the Boston presale changed to 5/31. General public sale starts 6/3.
Even with fees, the expensive tickets are $57.50. Gotta love that.
thanks for that info...guess i wont have any time between MA and MD presales to decide :?
different times at least??

I'll be honest, I've listened to the album through twice not this morning and I think it's fantastic...
It's a lot like Evil Urges (Which I like) but with a much larger feel. I am now officially super stoked to see them in July.
+1
This album is fantastic! Kinda disappointed with the last song though. Songs 1-9 are amazing and then "Movin Away" is just ok. I feel like they need one more amazing song after to close it out.

I love Movin Away! I think a lot of people do not like it that much because they expect an "epic" closing song. I think the fits the album nicely.
Driving around last night with the wife and Outta My System came up....Her comment..."Why hasn't anybody written this song yet?" I knew exactly what she meant and I think that's a perfect statement about that song. Goin back to my comments about that song sounding like the Beach Boys and then the way the song unfolds...May not be the greatest song ever or anything, but it's so simple and everything is perfectly placed. It's like, "that's what I would do........ if I was awesome".

Honestly, it's one of my favorite songs on the album. As you said, so simple and super fun to singalong to. I think it'll be a staple in their live shows.
Speaking of, for those that have heard the album, what are we thinking will be in the set most nights? I know they do a good job of mixing things up, but there's definitely a few that will be there most nights. Victory Dance, Circuital, Outta My System, Black Metal, First Light........The whole album is so good. I can't wait for the webcast on 5/31.
I'll let you know over the weekend after i see them what the set is like
Didn't they say they would debut the new songs in Kentucky? I bet the only songs played from the new album at the Hangout Festival are Circuital, Wonderful, and maybe Black Metal.
A preview of the 30 minute documentary featured inside the limited edition box of Circuital (Which I hope someone here shares with me when they get their copy )
