Why isn't abortion considered murder?

So, why isn't contraception murder?
Seriously speaking, is that a joke ? You're being sarcastic, right ?
well, technically... I'm being facetious. But yes it is a joke. Scarily enough, there are plenty of religious zealots and pro-lifers who actually believe that.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

Well, wouldn't you call it self defense if I was forcing you to gain weight, have health problems, cause you immense amounts of pain, possibly kill you, possibly confine you to a bed for up to 9 months, forcing you to feed, clothe, house me and completely change your life...and numerous other side affects, I believe you would be justified in murdering me if it was the only way to make me stop, (see abusive husband defense) so...following that wouldn't abortion be justified murder?
so fine, a fetus is a human, but a human that is causing damage to another that can be irreversible...seems like justifiable homicide to me.
not sure if I described the best way possible, but I think you can get the spirit of the argument
I myself would never want anyone to have an abortion, but their life isn't up to me.that’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

If there is ONE thing you take from this... let it be this:
Pro-Choice is NOT Pro-Abortion.
...
Submit this to memory... recall it when the topic of abortion arises.

This reminds me of an argument that Charlie Sheen would use for something. My whole life

There is no going back and changing history.
A mother has the right to choose whether to give birth to her child,
this is now the law.
In my opinion ....yes, it is legalized murder. But she has this right to choose.
Having had an abortion at age 16 just months before Roe vs Wade,
which ironically was decided on my birthday Jan 22nd....
it became very clear to me it was murder. Not something I would wish to ever do again nor
on my worst enemy. It was heart wrenching and damning.
But it was my choice. One I have lived with and will die with.
My child would be 38 this June.
Capital punishment is also legalized murder.0 -

Don't you already know the answer to this?
We protect Sea Turtles because they are at risk of extinction... as a result of what humans are doing to their environment. Nothing to do with abortion. You ask for our logic... then apply this sort of ill-logic?
Maybe is Mankind were on the verge of extinction... your logic would apply. But, since we are growing in numbers, we are not an endangered species.
...
Now... do you use your anti-abortion logic on China, India and Africa? It'd be great if abortions weren't allowed there, right?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Point taken... not agreed with, but taken.
Now... how about answering my question... what about China, india and Africa? Are you opposed to abortion in China, India and Africa? This is a simple 'Yes or No' question.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
