I 2nd no Dire Straits. Hurricane might have too many lyrics to remember. If you’re going Dylan though, My Back Pages or Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right- Eddie could really crack them out. Comfortably Numb or something by Social Distortion would rock too.

If we can't get "My Lover's Prayer" by Otis Redding with a tremendous Mike solo or "Stand By Me" by Ben E King, then I guess I can settle for the freecreditreport.com song
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

Perfect!! This was our wedding song :-)

YES! If Better Than Ezra can do it, Pearl Jam can do it 20 times better!

I'm Afraid of Americans - David Bowie and NIN

That would be so awesome if they could put their spin on it!

Everybody Knows ... By Leonard Cohen ... If you know the lyrics, you agree!
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

    "Everybody Knows"

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
    Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

    Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
    And a long stem rose
    Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
    Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
    Without your clothes
    And everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
    For your ribbons and bows
    And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
    That will disclose
    What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
    To the beach of Malibu
    Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
    Before it blows
    And everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Everybody knows

This is a long shot, and I don't know if they might have played it (as Pearl Jam) already?
But I'd love to hear Pearl Jam do Neil Young's "I'm The Ocean". It's amazing they way they (almost all of them) play it with Neil so they couldn't fail...

'heroes' by david bowie - PJ would make that SUCH a hymn live
'shot by both sides' by magazine - another punk rock nugget that would suit them
'the seeker' by the who (if they haven't covered that already sometime in the past)

They have done The Seeker ... I'm thinking only once, just because the bootleg I have of it is terrible quality, and it's the best I could find.

Pearl Jam should cover this! :D

REM-Life And How To Live It

Burn bright through the night, two pockets lead the way
To doors to go between the wall was raised today
To doors remain before your others and your own
Keep these books well stocked away and take your happy home

My carpenter’s out and running about, talking to the street
My pockets are out and running about
Barking in the street to tell what I have hidden there

Burn bright through the night, two pockets lead the way
Two doors to go between the wall was raised today
Raise the walls and shout its flaws, a carpenter should rest
So that when you tire of one side the other serves you best

My carpenter’s out and running about, talking to the street
My pockets are out and running about
Barking in the street to tell what I have hidden there

The hills ringing hear the words in time
Listen to the holler, listen to my walls within my tongue
Can’t you see you made my ears go tin?
The air quicken tension building inference suddenly
Life and how to live it

Raise the walls and shout its flaws, a carpenter should rest
So that when you tire of one side the other serves you best
Read about the wisdom lost, a knock, a knock, a knock
A secret knock one hammer’s locked the other wisdom lost

My carpenter’s out and running about, talking to the street
My pockets are out and running about
Barking in the street to tell what I have hidden there
My carpenter’s out and running about, barking in the, listen to the holler
My pockets are out and running about
Barking in the street to tell what I have hidden there

    Listen, listen to the holler,
If I write a book it will be called "Life and How to Live It"
    ********************************

Why not? I love PJ's take on Sonic Reducer and I could very well imagine them getting something out of that song as well.

Runnin Down a Dream or You Wreck Me by Tom Petty would be cool. I loved when Ed did The Waiting with them a few years back.

If You Like Crunchy Guitar Riffs, Powerful Vocals, Melodic Guitar Solos, And Meaningful Lyrics..then you need to check out one of the most refreshing new hard rock bands in quite some time...-->The Liberty Underground<--
