Small Town to open before they launch into the heavy hitters of World Wide Suicide, Got Some, Brain Of J and Save You. Present Tense and Down are pretty good together but Faithfull and All Those Yesterdays really grab the attention and after ATY Ed notes this saying to the crowd do they really want the rare ones. Black follows and there is a great tag by Ed at the end. Ed's rant about lawyers is hysterical. The Fixer & Evolution complete the main set.
I'll be getting round to listening to the encores tomorrow!
Edit: Listened to the encores today. Probably enjoyed them more than the main set. The End is played for the 1st time on the tour, Garden & Why Go are excellent and in closing the 1st encore, Blood is played for the only time in 2010. 2nd encore begins with Ed dedicating Better Man to Johnny Lydon, Sonic Reducer is another making it's only appearance of 2010 and Yellow Ledbetter with a Star Spangled Banner closes the show.
So overall, how would you describe the bootleg? Had the crowd and venue been better, I'm not sure if this show could have been topped for me. But as it stands, out of my three shows, it's at the bottom. Not a bad bootleg though, a tight performance. Many great versions.
To me, it is an average show. Main set didn't grab my attention that much, seems that way for the crowd too. The reaction for Faithfull & ATY is more intense than the earlier songs, which Ed duly notes. Enjoyed the encores more than the main set.

I keep bouncing back & forth between Lightning Bolt & my personal boot of the recent Pittsburgh show. Don't know which song(s) I like better. Can't wait to see if there are going to be any "official" bootlegs from this tour. Would somehow love to get a copy of the first PJ show I attended...

Unthought Known opens again just like in Buffalo. Corduroy and Evolution pick up the pace and it's good to hear Dissident and Low Light early on, both getting first performances of 2010. Nothingman is a delight to hear and I Got ID is another to it's first play of the tour. The crowd are on excellent form during Ed's call outs during Daughter and Jeff's stand-up bass sounds wicked during the WMA tag. Satan's Bed is dusted off (only play in 2010) and sounds great before the unusual combo of Lukin & Gonna See My Friend (another getting a first play of the tour) end the main set.
Ed brings out Tom Tomorrow at the 1st encore and dedicates Just Breathe to him & his wife. Speed Of Sound is then played for only the second time - Ed saying it's actually the first time because they made such a hash of it last time they attempted it. To be honest it doesn't sound that great, there is too much going on and the song sounds messy. It is one of those songs that sounds better in the studio than live I'm afraid. State Of Love And Trust livens things up before the band bring out a OTOTO with Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love. Porch ends the first encore.
The Fixer begins the second encore, followed by Crazy Mary. Alive as always steps it up and Indifference brings everyone back down but in a perfect way. The gig appears to be over but they break out All Along The Watchtower with the singer from Band Of Horses also on vocals.
Good boot this one.

Release starts us off perfectly. Animal, The Fixer and In My Tree all quickly follow before Small Town slows the pace temporarily. Force Of Nature gets an early slot in the set. Absolutely love the run of Pilate/Hail Hail/Push Me Pull Me/Even Flow/Undone/Not For You/Red Mosquito. Stats-wise Push Me Pull Me and Undone are both played for only the 4th ever. State Of Love And Trust and Why Go bring the main set to a crashing end.
Opening the 1st encore is Bee Girl, for the only play in 2010. Just Breathe retains a slot in the encore before a stellar Love Reign O'er Me is broke out for one of of two times in 2010. Rival makes only its 2nd appearance in 7 years, and it's pretty damn good. Love that song live. Save You and Rearviewmirror close the 1st encore.
Smile starts the 2nd encore and it is dedicated to somebody called Jen who couldn't make the show due to illness. Wasted Reprise & a fantastic Betterman are next. Ed then says there is a great club show going on before them and they had a request by a girl called Bridget for Last Kiss. Instead they Soldier Of Love, another making it's 1st appearance since 2003. Stone then talks about a charity called 'Partners In Health'. A real treat is next - Crown Of Thorns, Ed saying "27 shows in Boston and I don't think we've played this....". Alive and Rockin' In The Free World are the final songs of an epic show. Super super boot, probably my favourite of the US 2010 tour.
