This one got interrupted by Lightning Bolt arriving in the post today. Main set and 1st encore got played yesterday, then LB today and just picking up on the 2nd encore.

Wash opens the show, 1st time being played in a couple of years. It is great. The 1st ten or so songs just don't let up - Hail Hail, Corduroy, Got Some, In Hiding, World Wide Suicide, Force Of Nature, Immortality, Go, Even Flow and Army Reserve. That is quite a run there. Fucking great actually. Sleight Of Hand makes it's only appearance of 2010, one of my favourite PJ songs.

1st encore is short, just the 4 songs but quality nonetheless - especially Leash and Porch. 2nd encore starts with Wasted Reprise/Life Wasted and is followed by a sublime Black. Smile is played by request and for the 1st time in 2010. Alive is a monster and Indifference brings the show to a perfect end.

    Excellent boot.

I couldn't agree more. Im surprised this one doesn't get more talk about it. The performance is actually really tight as well as a well mixed up set. A great live recording.

  • Night 1 at MSG in 1998.

I was listening to it in my mp3 player at the supermarket, and couldn't help laughing when Mike started to play Yellow Led, and Ed goes "no, no, NOOO!" Then, I quickly checked if anyone was looking at me :D

    Buffalo '10

Opens with Unthought Known so not a great start for me :lol::lol: It's a bit of disjointed start I feel with Severed Hand, Animal, The Fixer & Small Town next. Good songs but I'm not feeling any energy here unlike the opening batch of songs at the previous 2 nights on the tour for example. No Way and a flawless Light Years are both nice little surprises before Mike goes wild on Even Flow. Ed forgets the lyrics to Amongst The Waves early on. Unemployable makes it's only appearance of 2010.

Obviously Just Breathe opens the encore. Ed makes a mistake on Fatal, not surprising given it is the first played since 2006. They start the song again and it is worth it. Good rendition and actually at this point the last time it has been played live. Next the band play to fans sat behind the stage, playing Last Kiss.

Once opens the 2nd encore followed by Alive but there is no Footsteps to complete The Mamasan Trilogy. Fuckin' Up makes what is now a rare appearance for this song and Yellow Ledbetter closes the show.

Some good moments, an average boot for me though.

Small Town to open before they launch into the heavy hitters of World Wide Suicide, Got Some, Brain Of J and Save You. Present Tense and Down are pretty good together but Faithfull and All Those Yesterdays really grab the attention and after ATY Ed notes this saying to the crowd do they really want the rare ones. Black follows and there is a great tag by Ed at the end. Ed's rant about lawyers is hysterical. The Fixer & Evolution complete the main set.

I'll be getting round to listening to the encores tomorrow!

Edit: Listened to the encores today. Probably enjoyed them more than the main set. The End is played for the 1st time on the tour, Garden & Why Go are excellent and in closing the 1st encore, Blood is played for the only time in 2010. 2nd encore begins with Ed dedicating Better Man to Johnny Lydon, Sonic Reducer is another making it's only appearance of 2010 and Yellow Ledbetter with a Star Spangled Banner closes the show.

So overall, how would you describe the bootleg? Had the crowd and venue been better, I'm not sure if this show could have been topped for me. But as it stands, out of my three shows, it's at the bottom. Not a bad bootleg though, a tight performance. Many great versions.

Love 2010 bootlegs. Those I had my hands on were all very tight. (MSG 1-2, Boston, Newark, Berlin. Dublin boot, couldnt get to open its cover yet. Ah, when will I get to be retired for listening to all these boots? )

My first PJ show that I of course, will never forget. One of my favorite bootlegs too. When you look at this show on paper, it really is kind of a fucked up, obscure set list. I was extremely lucky that at my first show I was able to hear Brain Of J, Save You, Present Tense, Down, Insignificance, Faithfull, All Those Yesterdays, Garden, Blood, and Sonic Reducer. That's actually pretty crazy to think about.

I remember that Ed seemed kind of fucked up and drunk when they first took the stage. They did also sound check Hard To Imagine that night......man I wish that would've happened.

Haven't been on the bootleg trail lately, just been off and on going between a few songs from different shows. That will change though, need to start getting ready to roll for my 3 shows coming up on Leg 2 this tour.
