A proper repress is overdue. The bootleg sounds good enough that i no longer have any urge to drop $1500+, but i still want an official one.

Black vinyl and unnumbered.  Maybe a black cover too....sounds like Vault 11 to me.

I hope not.  I was a little disappointed with this years vault because it wasn't anything new.  It was something already available in pretty good quality.   I would rather vault's focused on releasing unreleased stuff over being used to reissue stuff that's readily available in pretty high quality.

Agree 100%, to me vaults should be unreleased material.

I have a question.  Are we sure that pretty much all vinyl bootlegs are pressed from CD?  Is it ever possible they somehow clone an original vinyl to make another plate, to stamp them out that way?
Would you not double up on, for instance, the normal crackle you get on vinyl and amplify the natural 'flaws' from a physical production process if you did that?
No idea.  Most of the time when you have a sealed vinyl, or a vinyl well cared for you don't get the crackle/pops?

If it were possible to make a new master from a highly graded existing copy, you could do a whole business model on spending an assload for a sealed copy, make a new master, and sell high quality pressings?

Then again, I'm unsure if how hard it is to clone a record from a record.
I'm not sure you can make  plates from an existing record.... maybe they could steal plates that were used in the official release.. but that would be crazy.

Im thinking the same thing about posters... buy an original, and then copy and print the heck out of it... wow, you could make a ton on selling 1998 prints. Just imagine how much you could make selling 2010 Kongs, and you could probably make them look a lot better than the illegal bootlegs sound.

There's tutorials out there of how to clone a record at home. Hard to get it doublesided. Im sure a few records have been cloned this way. It always amazes me that if you had all of the proper equipment why you wouldnt just set up a legit business since there is such a demand. I often wonder why the counterfeit Save You 7" came first but then the reissue looked very similar.

Co-signed - and if they want to reissue Lost Dogs too I won’t be mad.   Sitting here looking at £400 Discogs listings, wishing they’d just put me out of my misery already.

Yep. Would be great if they did reissue it for a Record Store Day event. Would have to be 5000+.

I have a copy of the white boot. A friend of mine found an online auction selling them and bought one for him and one for me because he knows I am a PJ fan. The sound is ok, but it is not very loud. I have to turn my speakers up quite a bit and even then it sounds subdued. A reissue would be very welcomed.

Crossing fingers. Hopefully the pirated bootleg copies floating around are making the Sony reps talk at the conference table that they need more official Pearl Jam vinyl releases flooding the market.

With zero evidence, I feel confident it will be reissued in time. Key is not to bite on these over priced bootlegs or on the secondary market OG pressings.
