'Nuff said - what do you think?

I am new to the whole vinyl thing but that is an album I am really dying to listen to on vinyl. I am not a collector, I just want to be able to afford that beautiful recording on vinyl and listen to it at home. Unseal it and just enjoy ... :D

I'm sure in the day's ahead of time there will be bootleg vinyl copies of the Benny Hall Vinyl released. Like the latest Solider Field & Into The Wild releases. All coming from Europe. Very soon we'll see them on eBay ...

with all the sealed copies still sitting around collecting dust, there can't be a huge audience of people wanting to listen to it. most people want it only because it is a collectible and worth a lot of money. that is why they pay ebay prices and keep them sealed. i agree that the uk will press a reissue and sell it ala soldier field. doubt it will be a wine color vinyl and packaged the same way though.

  • Just to let you know, the Benny vinyl doesn't sound all that better than the compact disc especially if you have a decent stereo. :)

If I ever stike it rich... I'm buying every sealed copy I can get my hands on, opening them, spinning them and then selling them to anyone who will spin the hell out of them after me! Plates are ment to be collected...I'm just saying...one can dream... ;)

Well that depends on what kind of turntable you have. It's sad that many people buy those cheap market turntables with usb:s that have ceramic cartridges and no anti-skating feature, so stay away from these!

As a format the vinyl always have a warmer, more human sound and remember that what you hear with your ears is an analog sound wave, so when the music is turned into digital 1:s & 0:s the analog sound wave that you hear is altered on it's way to your ears. And the dynamics of music on vinyl is something the cd can only dream of...

There is certainly something special that connects you more closely to the music when you listen to it on vinyl. The experiment of dusting of the record, putting down the needle and watching it spin,... and the bigger sleeves and better looking artwork make it much more special than the cd.

Totally agree, the vinyl is there to be played. Collect and play. For me folk are sticking these on the shelf for the re-sell at big bucks in the future.

I started buying vinyl in the last 12 months; got 11 holiday singles, ITW re-issue, orig Ten and LO10L boxset plus some Springsteen albums - the only reason I haven't played any of these is because I don't own a turntable yet!!!

It's a great idea! Not sure it'll happen but definitely kick it out on 180 gram black vinyl for those that want to listen to it! I was lucky enough to get one when they were released through 10c. Opened and played the minute I got it :)

Release it 10c. Everyone deserves to hear this in this format and you'll make a shit load of dough too. They could charge $100 and they'd fly off the shelf.

The only reason they aren't opened is because they are close to $800

Whats the market price on the opened ones? Not that I'd ever sell mine unless I was blown away or needed the money desperately.
Plus, Santos' numerical printing on the box make this invaluable.

  • I also got one from 10c, ordered on Jun 21 2004, price was $35 and shipping to Scandinavia was $11. I dont need a copy myself, but for my fellow Pearl jam fan, i hope they make a re-issue some day soon! Its just a better experience on vinyl!

    2008: MSG I, MSG II, Newark(EV)
    2009: Albany 1-2(EV), Philly 3

    2016: MSG 1, MSG II, Fenway 1
  • I like the fact that there are so many supporters of the "Just spin it!" idea :D

And 350$ for an opened one? Hmmmm

I like the 100$ suggestion - why keep it away from people who want to listen to it? The first edition would still remain valuable for those who collect the gems :)

I buy two copies of everything PJ releases. I open one and leave the other sealed up. Its a surefire plan and the best of both worlds.
