Spinning Rollin records version right now. Sounds fantastic. Looks like they have pulled all PJ vinyl from their website. Glad I got it when I did.0

I understand people shouldn’t be selling bootlegs of this however if folks that have this are saying sound quality is at least CD quality and you truly enjoy spinning vinyl, I can see the appeal. None of us are getting any younger and there appears to be no re-issue is in our future.1996 - Columbia, MD & Augusta, ME

Id rather watch a spinning record (if watching a spinning record is what people like), and stream the CD... then support unauthorized illegal bootlegs. Hopefully people are buying vinyl to take advantage of the sound, but I guess I get people just like to watch a record spin.Post edited by MedozK on0

Most vinyl today tho you can only hope matches CD quality. To be honest its a good quality bootleg. The allure is being able to sit in a chair and relax spinning the show. Same ritual as putting on the Vaults, etc. Vinyl live concert bootlegs are extremely common in every indie record store ive been in. I have some amazing Replacements ones, Green Day ones, Chili Peppers. Only PJ ones i have are Benny and Melbourne ‘98 (another one that sounds great).A lot sound like garbage tho you’re right.0

And if you are buying new vinyl that is processed from a digital signal that only hopes to match CD... then your wasting your money. There are many new and reissue vinyl pressings that are done right and completely blow away CD quality. But ymmv, depending on your audio setup.0 -
The setup is great. The problem, as u know, is a lot of the mainstream pressings today wont sound any better than the CD. Thats just laziness/cost saving in mastering and pressing overload/mediocre plants. I have a huge collection and maybe half are noticeably better than CD. So when you get a boot that sounds like the official CD your vinyl ritual doesn't suffer lol.0

I guess I just don’t get the appeal of spending $500 to listen to something that is presumably sourced from the CD and therefore at best, with a perfectly pressed copy can only sound as good as a $30 CD.The CD will sound better and require less trips off the couch to change/flip disks. But you get to “have it on vinyl”...different strokes I guess.
I also wouldn’t want to fund people making shitty vinyl rip off copies of artists work but again...different strokes I guess.0 -
No clue. Ive never spent much cash on any live bootleg album. I love live albums in general. They're fun to spin no matter where they come from. The Replacements have some amazing ones out there. There’s some good Woodstock 94 ones out there too.0

I’ve listened to 4 sides now of the bootleg version that I got and it sounds fantastic. Sounds a lot better than the scratched CD I have. Would’ve loved to give the money to PJ but don’t think they have any interest in releasing it. If they do I’ll buy another just to add to my collection0

I have a question. Are we sure that pretty much all vinyl bootlegs are pressed from CD? Is it ever possible they somehow clone an original vinyl to make another plate, to stamp them out that way?

Most of the time when you have a sealed vinyl, or a vinyl well cared for you don't get the crackle/pops?If it were possible to make a new master from a highly graded existing copy, you could do a whole business model on spending an assload for a sealed copy, make a new master, and sell high quality pressings? Then again, I'm unsure if how hard it is to clone a record from a record.0

Hated that I missed out on the bootleg release. Still hoping this gets a proper re-release. It's long overdue! Make it happen Santos!"I got memories, I got shit"0
