Got my super deluxe Thursday morning :) Fucking beautiful! Haven't listened to the vinyl yet but it smells great :) Cready Stomp and acoustic Hold On are amazing. Thanks 10c! Thanks Pearl Jam! Can't wait to give the Orpheum show a good spin tomorrow :D
  • I am jealous. I pre-ordered this thinking it would arrive by the release date, fooled me again. Next time I will go to Best Buy and get it on time. I had taken time off to be able to sit down and really check this out. Tomorrow's my last day off of said mini-vacation, and still no Super Deluxe Edition...got the six bonus live songs though, guess that's something.

cos will be too expensive the shipping, ore than 50$ and we will have to pay taxes + fees+ vat cos we receive something very expensive from USA to European Union..

Well if you don't count the "extra ups delivery fee" that they charged with the Ten Super deluxe box, it should not be more expensive from Ten Club. Now with the Vs./Vitalogy Super DeLuxe box set the base price (before VAT) was more expensive from Sony International than from TenClub (US customers only), so I hope that Ten Club will sell the next "bigger" box. There's always a chance that the package don't get caught in the customs and then we wouldn't have to pay the VAT, but I believe that with the tracking option that also tells the value of the package it is almost always being taxed at the customs. Anyway I believe it could have been cheaper from Ten Club for international customers, because of a lower price from Ten Club, even with our countries own VAT included.
I PAY FOR TEN DELUXE BOX IN MY DOOR 170 EUROS EXTRA AT UPS GUY......22,5 EUROS WAS THE VAT..THE REST WAS UPS BULLSHIT....

Ok, apart from you dimi and some other unfortunate ones that got screwed by Ups (I believe we had a few in Portugal) the Ten box was cheaper than this Vs/Vitalogy if we compare base price, shipping and Ups courier fees. I'm quite sure it would have been cheaper for international customers to buy the Vs/Vitalogy Super DeLuxe from Ten Club rather than Sony International.

We all know what the economic situation in Greece has been and it's not a surprise that this Ups cheat-attempt happened in Greece; politicians and officials in all areas in Greece has been intentionally making financial frauds and lying about the finances and there's a huge grey economy. And now Portugal may also seek bridge loan from other EU-countries so no surprise there's a lot of cheaters there even thou the crises in Portugal is not a result of the manipulation of the finances like it was in Greece but merely because they have lived over their resources for several years and now they can't handle their debt anymore.

Thanks for info. NewJPage, but Super Deluxe isn't my first burn with Pre-Orders here.

Got burned on BACKSPACER, too, which WAS available at Best Buy. I just think it's a poor business practice to con people into a Pre-Order and then not get them what they pre-ordered by the street date. When I worked at a music store and we took pre-orders, we guaranteed the customer the product they were pre-ordering by the release date of said product. Ten Club used to work that way, too. I got PEARL JAM through Ten Club the day BEFORE it was released.

I guess it is somewhat comforting to know that in this particular case, I didn't have any choice though.

guess you haven't cracked 35,000 yet.

i wish it was available at amazon, i got the ten super deluxe for like $100 cheaper then ten club was selling it, and more then $200 cheaper then it was in Australian stores. i still see it in some shops for $400.

I have to check that so I'll start counting.

This is what it would be to Finland (from Sony International/MyPlayDirect):

    Subtotal €149.10 EUR $205.77
    Estimated Shipping/Handling €28.17 EUR $38.87
    Total €177.27 $244.64

    (149.10 EUR X 0.23 = 34.30 EUR (VAT part that is 23% in Finland)

And the price before VAT in Ten Club Goods Store:

    $150 USD / 1.38 = €108.70 EUR

    €108.70 + €34.30 = €143 EUR (which is $197.33 USD)

€177.27 - €143 = 34,27 EUR would be the maximum amount that shipping to Europe from Ten Club could be, in order for the Super DeLuxe Box Set to be cheaper from Ten Club than from Sony International.

My Ten Re-issue Super DeLuxe Box Set was
    Sub-Total $140.00
    Shipping $50.00
    Grand total $190.00

The shipping fee for Ten Super Deluxe: $50 / 1.38 = €36,23 EUR

Ok, I'm sorry you were right, it would have been 2 euros more expensive through Ten Club if the shipping fee ($50 USD) would have been the same.

US & Canadian fans: was shipping the same or more expensive now for the Vs./Vitalogy Super DeLuxe compared to the Ten Re-issue Super DeLuxe?

But if it would go through the customs without getting caught we would save €32 Euros ;) , so I say it's definitely a win/lose situation. I can pay 2 euros more if I can be in business with the Ten Club only and not Sony (as it has turned out that they are liars) and there's a possibility that we save the 32 euros, right? Maybe it's time to let Ten Club handle the selling and shipping internationally for the next premium product and we may have some signed boxes by the band :-D :-D :D

From my experience since we've been part of the EU the chance of my packages going trough customs is practically 100% because they have less work now plus you pay import duty for shipping too.
Yes we in the EU have a 2 week delay but others had a better experience with them since they received the box 1st.
I don't like dealing with the 10C because of their huge shipping rates and times.
At the end of the day we'll have it before the Canadians for example.

Well I wouldn't say that even though I'm studying economics at the university. I just wanted to find out which would be cheaper, but that sure depends on 1) if Ten Club charges more for the shipping than they did with the Ten box and 2) if the package goes through the customs un-noticed or not (which affect if we pay VAT or not)

do you mean that the packages you have bought from non-EU countries have gone through the customs without getting noticed and you have not needed to pay the VAT, even for more valuable items?

Here in Finland the limit for them to collect VAT is if the VAT part is 10 euros.

For what I've read they have quite a lot of work at the customs at the airports where most of the deliveries come into our EU-countries.

No i meant the opposite. They used to have more work before so especially smaller packages weren't usually checked. This kind of box has no chance of skipping customs.

Where have you heard that the number of non-EU import have decreased and what can be the reason for this? You are probably right that the Super DeLuxe hasn't a chance of skipping customs and that we had it VAT-free but I guess that the reason for this has more to do with what Santos told in the recent pj-radio interview: that these valuable packages need to have the tracking option and I guess the tracking also mean that the right value must be stated on the package.

With cheaper items it's not that big deal if the value is a bit under-declared, but if I remember correctly Santos said that it really isn't possible with items like the Super DeLuxe edition.

I don't really buy that unless you have some source that the non-EU-country imports are declining. I thought that they are increasing. Before we where part of the EU we didn't use internet as much and there wasn't a similar supply of online stores as there is now. I'm pretty sure that imports from the US to EU-countries are a lot bigger now than ten years ago. The exchange rate has also made a big difference as products bought in USD are cheaper to europeans. The EUR/USD rate is around 1.40 and it has been up to 1.50. It' a huge difference compared to the situation in the late 90's when it was closer to 1 and at some point the US dollar was worth even more than the Euro (EUR/USD Exhange rate below 1). Btw, what country do you come from Mine?

Sony is not shipping the SDB to Israel so I asked Santos what could be done and this was the reply I got:

    Hi,
Shipping a 9lb package to Israel with tracking is bloody expensive. That said....I ran the numbers and this is what I came up with:

This part was an image that could not be copy/paste:
Basicly said that the cost to ship with tracking would be just under $200 for shipping alone!

In a word...Ouch....., not to mention the Customs/Duty/VAT fees that you will have to pay upon delivery, doesn’t make this a very attractive option. These are the only two shipping speeds of UPS to Israel.

another option, which has it’s own set of problems, would be to charge around $75 for shipping, ship the box set via DHL Globalmail (our normal shipping partner) without tracking and hope that it arrives. If we sent via DHL, and the order disappears, Ten Club would not send a replacement....so shipping would be at your risk.

USPS International with tracking is also an option, will probably be in the $80-100 range, although we may not be able to commit to the USPS due to the amount of labor involved...long story short, we may not physically be able to make it to the post office and ship a bunch of INT orders at the same time we’re fulfilling all the other orders...I’ll try and figure out how doable this option is.

The absolute best way to do this would be to purchase and ship the item to someone you know in the US and figure out how to get it from them.

We still have some time to figure this out. I’ll be speaking with our DHL rep and find out if a “track and trace” would be available to Israel, but this is where we are at right now.

No source, just logic... Customs for EVERY country or customs for non-EU countries makes a big difference.

This is not what I was talking about. I said that the amount of packages they process decreased because of the countries that are now within the EU. The difference in exchange rate barely covers the shipping fees and VAT.

The absolute best way to do this would be to purchase and ship the item to someone you know in the US and figure out how to get it from them.

We still have some time to figure this out. I’ll be speaking with our DHL rep and find out if a “track and trace” would be available to Israel, but this is where we are at right now.

    There's one thing i don't understand.
My experience elsewhere is that the shipping depends on the size of the box rather than the weight when it comes to couriers. The price and weight range of the products the 10C sells usually come at a standard shipping fee. For example i had a laptop sent within the EU for 7€ and it was delivered in 2 days and a tracking number was provided. This with Amazon that has a bunch if shipping options that they pick for you depending on the contents.
I really don't know what to think. The 10C either can't provide better options or they don't know how to provide them because most of us know out of experience that they do exist. I'd say that regularly you'd be charged around 50$ for this to be shipped from the US maybe more with tracking, let's say 70$ or about 50€. I wonder how much amazon charges for the 10 SDE.
    I don't know but that's just weird.

Basicly said that the cost to ship with tracking would be just under $200 for shipping alone!

We paid $50.00 USD for the international shipping of the Ten Re-issue Super DeLuxe Box Set and this one can't be that much heavier and the shipping prices has probably not increased that much. I guess that they had some sort of discount last time because of several packages but $200 sounds just ridiculous. You could always ask here on the board if someone from the US is going to visit some relatives in Israel or vice versa and if you could get the package that way.

I got my Deluxe set here in NYC on wednesday, the download was sent to me on tuesday. If you dont have it,Im sure you will get it very soon. The download is really 5 songs,Jam is not a song IMO,and could have just continued after YL, since its only 2 min.Ive Got A Feeling ended the gig,and I would have loved a great version of that classic.I like the set,the extras are nice.I just wish the Boston gig was the whole show.I still love the famous Atlanta gig more (04.03.94) and think it sounds better than the Orpheum release.Iam grateful for another good sounding show from 1994.Does anyone know of another great sounding boot from this tour?

Nice that you received yours. If a -95 gig works for you you'd probably like: 1995-07-11 Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
