just checked fish finder. this beer is all around me now. figures i realized this on a monday morning.
gonna pick some up before thanksgiving. despite the mixed reviews i still can't wait to have a go at it.
Am sure it won't go quite as quickly up there as it did in the city, but it's gone down here, at least every place I have been.
Awesome to have and very cool of them to make it, but it's essentially the Dogfish Head equivalent of Bud Light. That said, I still have two bottles and will be drinking and enjoying both.
the dogfish equivalent of bud light
now i really can't wait to try it .....is it really that bad?
It's not that bad. It's just a really really really light craft beer with not a whole lot of flavor. I don't dislike it, but I think they could have done much better. As JP said, it's a beer you could drink all day at a tailgate.

I don't get the hate against the beer. I really enjoyed it and I love craft beer. I thought it was excellent, wasn't heavy and had a light feel too it. I personally thought it was an excellent beer. I like all types and it may be the Bud Light of Dogfish Head, but if you're gonna make a light beer make it well.
I couldn't definitely drink a lot at a tailgate party and would love if they mass produced it. Just lower the cost a bit please.
"That's part of the curse: If you're gonna play the song, you better play it. I've tried to phone in "Jeremy" a few times, and it's tough. It doesn't work."
Thanks for everyone's advice in helping me score some! I was ready to give up when several people on this forum came to my rescue and let me know where I might be able to find Faithfull Ale! The sportsmanship has been great!

I looked at Roof Bro's when I was down there a couple weeks ago and no luck. Good luck, I actually really like the beer.

That's pointless, like not playing vinyl. You can save the bottle but you should really drink it and get some Pearl Jam in your belly. Preferably while playing vinyl.
Does anyone know the shelf life of the drink? I've left it on my desk unopened as a decoration. I want to save it for a special occasion, but I also don't want it to go bad by sitting out.

If you you "cellar" it properly (40-50 degrees), it should age nicely. You can keep it for many, many years under the right conditions. It's a popular misconception that beer cannot be aged like wine.

It is only 7%, is not bottle conditioned, and has added fruit flavouring. Like most beer out there it should be drunk fresh and will probably not age well at all. There just isn't enough alcohol in there to really preserve anything. For most craft beer you have about 3-4 months, keep it in a dark place though, light, especially UV is beer's natural enemy.

Lol. I +1'd you last time you said this in that other thread. +1 again.
ABV too low.
Besides, based on what i tried last night, fuck it, not even worth trying.
Give it to the bum on the corner. It's like glorified PBR.
lol
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
I love it for what it is, but the Miles Davis Bitches Brew tasted much better to me.
I'll agree with you!!! FAITHFULL ALE isn't the BEST BEER I've ever had, but it's definitely not the WORST!!!
I like the BITCHES BREW much better...
Just finished a Raison D'etre and I'm still trying to chase down a bottle of the HELLHOUND too!!!! :ugeek:

Just because it isn't a high ABV beer doesn't mean you can't cellar it. IPA's and other hoppier beers, sure, they're probably best fresh. This beer probably won't change much a year from now as it certainly doesn't need to mellow out but that doesn't mean you can't sit on it for a while without it going shitty. But based on your post counts you both probably spend a lot of time on the internet and know everything. Get some sun.
