I adore this album...I swear I could listen to it on repeat for days, and I wouldn't mind.

Is the next reissue going to be No Code and Yield together?
Cannot wait to see what goodies we get with that one...

i hope they don't put no code and YIELD together cause it take away from the greatness that is each album

for the YIELD box set i'd really like for them to include a jack irons concert and a matt cameron concert. it only be the right thing to do.

I went to the used record store today. The only Pearl Jam album they didn't have was Yield. I wasn't surprised. Who would possibly give up a Yield CD?

rediscovered Yield as of late....for awhile it wasnt one i would listen to that often..i was stuck on Vitalogy for a loooong time and recently got back into Yield and it truly is an underrated album and the last great rock album of the 90s i think....very underrated.......its easy to listen to the entire album without skipping a song...."In Hiding" is pure ecstasy...and that last yell on "DTE"...ferocious

Indeed...Yield is the most cohesive, most transcendent of the albums where the parts make up the whole...\

LOVE Yield....to me it is almost the first Pearl Jam album because I wasn't a big fan until it came out. I'm going from memory but I'm pretty sure that a lot of people on the message boards at that time weren't real happy with it at first.

I loved it....will always love it....it takes me back to a time in my life that I'll never forget

This has always been my favorite album. I remember it came out when I was a freshman in college. I skipped class to go to the local Cats Record store to pick it up. Most of my friends has stopped listening to Pearl Jam after Vitalogy came out but I played this nonstop. It came out at the perfect time for me, the lyrics seemed to evoke the feeling that anything was possible. And I was still at the age when I believed it.Nothing better than smoking a bowl when Brain of J came on and waiting for the opening of Faithful to set you up for the next 45 minutes.

meet up at the YIELD bar of just the members of the YIELD thread and afterwords all the members of the YIELD thread come out from in hiding(yield pun intended) and rule the board and the porch for a night. PBM and fanchy(fanch75) will get so balls deep into a discussion of YIELD that everyone will get smarter from their wisdom.:lol:.

I like that idea.....the re-issue will also need to include a re-issued version of "Single Video Theory" with 2 hours of unreleased; never before seen bonus footage from the legendary YIELD sessions.

I'd say my favorite Pearl Jam album is Yield. Not because of each track individually, but as a whole. I think, along with No Code, Yield is the album that has a really special mood to it, it kinda creates an indescribable atmosphere when you play it.
I'm guessing the word is "instrospection". This is what makes Yield so great, a true album, the one that Pearl Jam always wanted to make, without being afraid of what the fans might say or what direction the band might have ended up going.
I can say that Yield is definetely the most honest album in the catalogue, and a turning point in the band's career. I mean, just listen to it and you can realize how big and mature they were back in 97.

By the way, I think Yield's sound quality is not the best one. Can't wait for the re-release to listen to those gems in their full expression :)

I'll just chime in and say that if YIELD has to share a re-release with another album, I'll be pissed. If YIELD has to share a re-release with No Code or something I'll just chalk it up to Pearl Jam becoming "the man" and I'll send letters to Ed asking where his Republican Party Membership card is.

Monkey Wrench Sessions are collectively a great idear. I like the idea of more footage from the SVT filming sessions. Just more more more. Throw it out there, run it up the flag and those of us who adore YIELD will salute it.

I'll close with this. Last week, a few bros and I were talking about our favorite songs. GIVEN TO FLY was on my list. I'll C&P from that thread to this one.

Have a great holiday weekend, all.

GIVEN TO FLY - Pearl Jam: Favorite Pearl Jam song. The song just soars, especially the chorus. Best version I've ever heard is the one on PJ's Single Video Theory DVD. I'll never forget driving my '98 Chevrolet Tracker to meet my parents at Kentucky Lake for vacation that summer, the sun was setting and I was driving along side the Land Between The Lakes with this song (and the rest of the YIELD album) on; what a great memory.
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?

I think MSG 2 should be the show they include in the box set.
