I got to know lots of really nice people on these boards and I really enjoy talking to people from all over the world who share my love for PJ. You can decide which membership fits you best, so what's the deal? I don't have decided yet which option I'll choose. I am happily looking forward to anything that'll come our way from PJ this year and I am thankful for anything I'll get. I think even 50 dollars is still okay, it's annual, not monthly. Considering all the money I spend on things that I don't care that much about it's okay for me to pay this amount. And even if it weren't for that, I am not forced to pay it. It's up to me to decide. But maybe it would have been better if they just raised the membership cost for 5-10 dollars and just kept one version of memberships

I don't for a second believe all the folk complaining about this saying they won't renew their memberships or they won't like Pearl Jam no more. Course you will. Time to renew comes and you'll go for the analog, get your vinyl single through and your new t-shirt and you'll be happy.
Everyone on here loves to complain and wants everything for free. I tell you, the band could announce that the next album would be given away for free and you'd still complain2000: Manchester

There are people on here that really make me sick. Heaven forbid there be a discussion about value and whether or not something is fair without those engaging in it being called names or looked down upon. It also goes to show why the economy is so fucked in the first place, as so many people clearly do not understand the concept of value. Yes, this may "just" be $40, but imagine if everything you bought went up 100% overnight. Everything is creeping up, except most salaries and job opportunities. Sure, I can afford $40 for a mostly pointless package of shit I don't need. I can also afford a lot of things for $100 or $1000, but after awhile I stop being able to afford everything if I take that approach. But better to do it that way than to be labeled a whiner here by the d-bag elitist fans.
For those who renewed in advance, there's no way 10C can take away your vinyl and hardcopy Deeps so long as they're still being produced. You paid for memberships that included them. They cannot say "Well, now you have to pay us even more if you want those". They have to honour their end of the deal, otherwise they should have never allowed for multiple years renewal. And I really hope people who are years ahead really don't pay extra for a t-shirt they cannot select and a download they can get elsewhere for free. Because I do fear many would do so just to be able to call themselves analog, which is sad.
And please, can we all stop pretending that Pearl Jam and Ten Club are some sort of religious charity? If you're not stealing their music, you owe them nothing. Pearl Jam Inc is a business and as the customers we have a right to discuss their business model. I'm tired of this word "fan" because, quite frankly, when was the last time Pearl Jam Inc treated us like fans instead of customers? My Pearl Jam Photos

Since the x-mas single is the only thing I really care about in the package, there is no way I'll pay $50 for it.
No one said they won't like Pearl Jam anymore because of this.
I, like most of the others here, don't want everything for free (except what was promised, but what we never got...). I'm glad to pay for stuff the band releases, because most of the time, it's great stuff.
But in my eyes, the new membership deals are pretty shitty. They were created to maximize profit, not to please the fans. There is nothing innovative about these deals, what is really sad. They could have taken a look at other fanclubs for ideas. Missed opportunity.Post edited by William Wallace on0 -

How much you wanna bet the "limited edition" shirts are the stickman, Black, or 2008 tour T-shirts?

After reading many of the post, I agree with those who feel the prices are getting out of hand.
For me, like many, it not an issue of affordability, I have worked hard and now I am able to afford most items I want.
For me it's the principle. PJ has always sounded out against greed. Some of their lyrics no longer have meaning.
The defense that they have worked hard and can do as they please doesn't hold. That is greed.
There are many other bands out there with free memberships. Cake for one. I will attend a show this spring at the 9:30 Club in DC. A great small venue, that Pearl Jam will never play because of greed.
It sucks when something you believed in changes so much.
But like EV said, "Cause friends they come and go
People change as does everything"0 -

I agree 100% with this, these are my same thoughts..
For the blind so called fans that always say "stop whining, you're a bunch of crybabies, if you don't like it don't buy it, ecc.." , well ask yourself why Ten Club, particularly in the recent years, gets a load of complaints.. maybe because the service provided isn't the best, lack of information, promises said and never honored?
My intl membership from 25 dollars is going up to 50 dollars (the double) and I'm not getting ANYTHING more, because I already have all the boots and don't care about shirts (expecially if I can't choose them).. ah yes, there's the digital option, which gives you absolutely NOTHING (and don't tell me otherwise, you know it's the truth) except ticket privileges that for an intl member are not so simple to get.. look at the number of negative responses on here, it's not like I'm saying that the majority is always right, but if you get a shitloads of complaints like the ones in this thread, you should seriously reconsider the way you're doing things.. I'm not surprised that anyone from Ten Club has come here to give more explanations or just say "shut the fuck up", that's another of the great services they provide: COMMUNICATIONPost edited by Jammalambo on0 -

Why is it so wrong to question value on here? if your cable bill doubled overnight and all you got in return was a channel you might not ever watch, would you just except it??? i know we only talking 20$ difference and no, it is not huge sum of money.. But why is it so wrong to expect some kind of service or offer for double my cost?? That being said, i think the ball is 10C's court now !! lets see what we are offered for doubling our cost! I'm going to give it a try and see what offers are sent our way in the upcoming year..
i am cautiously optimistic
happy new year0
