anyways, i've wasted enough time. but i'd like to say that i resent the implication that i begrudge the australians the solo tour.

You don't begrudge it....I think we all know that.

But no offence, I can handle 3 months of whinging if you're fighting for it....I can't handle 3 months of whinging if none of you are doing a thing to help the situation. I already feel like shit talking excitedly about it in front of you....reading your constant misery isn't helping.

I like the passion here - people want to see Ed - but Ed doesn't have to do gigs anywhere.

When Ed did Seven Worlds Collide, which was priceless, why didn't they come over and do some shows in Sydney? It wouldn't have been very hard and they would have made shiteloads of cash.

Why didn't Pearl Jam play a big oval in Canberra in 2009 like they did in 1995?

With all due respect, New Zealand got a Pearl Jam tour in 2009. Think about people in, say, South Africa. There would be fans there that are as big a fan as any of us. They get nothin'.

No one is "owed" a show. It's disappointing, and I think Ed should get over to NZ for a show or two. All I know is, I sure wasn't expecting an Eddie solo show 12 months after the band came here.

But it's easy for me to say because I'm seeing him. Good luck with whatever you can do to get Ed over. FWIW, NZ to Melbourne flights are cheap as.

Sorry but I have to agree with Ziggy. I've been thinking the same thing but was too scared to say it.

I just checked the NZ petition and there is only 139 signatures on there.

    Everyone needs to try harder.

Keep bumping my NZ thread too.

you think he's going to drive to perth? there's less distance to cover by plane to nz than there is to perth is all i'm saying. and he wouldn't have a stage - the venues would. It's not like the pearl jam tour where they took all that stuff to be set up in otherwise-used sports stadiums. he's playing at venues that are already equipped.

FWIW, it costs a fair bit to play in 2 different countries as opposed to 1. Ed would be making a fair bit on the tour - relatively speaking - but it's basically a surfing holiday with some solo shows.

  • all I did do was start the petition and I wish I could do more but I cant, I've spread the word, Iv sent heaps of emails to radio stations and tv stations all to no reply. I cant do much more, Iv got crappy internet at the moment so its hard to get on here. IF I lived in some place like Auckland I could do more by getting out on the street and spreading the word but I dont. Trust me, where I live, no ones even heard of Pearl Jam

So yeah, Iv done what I can, If i dosent work then thats fine.

And I just want to say, I am happy for all you australians. I'm not going to complain too much and ruin your fun. I hope you all have a great time seeing Ed :D
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D

That's right. You have to be there to collect the tickets yourself and show photo ID.

I was not stupid enough to buy Adelaide tix, I got Sydney and Melbourne. If I knew Ed was coming would have only done Sydney, maybe not at all if there were 2 Perth shows, oh well

i don't want to be a downer but there is still nothing officially confirmed, just a few weak quotes from Chugg not really confirming anything.

so i wouldn't go tearing up those other tickets just yet. it still may not happen.

Yes, but for newcastle. If 10C had mentioned in the initial announcement that there was going to be Perth show but they were waiting for details, then no, i wouldn't have bought tickets for over east. I might write them an email, i know they wont budge, but it's worth a try.
  • i think perthies should get on board with the nz petition

i see several names on the perth petition and their are familiar as out of wa

    ive signed it

hope you guys get your nz shows :)

everyone deserves a good ed gig!

That would be me. I helped put together a petition in late 2002 for PJ to come to NZ as part of their 2003 Riot Act tour. Got a few thousand signatures, media attention etc but it didnt work out. Put plenty of my own time/money into it, but hey thats cool, these things happen.

I think that is what she is referring to.

Yeah I think i'll do the same, just so maybe in future they can let us know if other city shows are planned to be announced later...

Well there you go. I don't know why, if in fact they did have plans to go to Perth, that they couldn't have said it from the start, save the Perth people a lot of time and money not buying east coast tickets they wouldn't have if they knew he was coming to Perth.

But I feel it was a last minute addition after the complaints and emails to chugg.

I think the right thing for ten club to do would be to exchange tickets for people from Perth who now don't want to travel.

Yeah i emailed ten club asking if I could exchange, or at least put the tickets back up and I'll fight for Perth tickets myself. Nooooooot gonna happen though :(
  • Perth show to be announced???? just smashed my savings on flights ect to melbourne.........

OK just read last posts. this has not been organised very well... WA was definitely going to kick up a fuss not being included in the tour. and if ed is coming then he can play at my house ;) just should have confirmed before we all threw realism into the wind. its just going to be hard not buying tickets to hometown show. disappointed that I'm going to waste $ getting over east. but it will still be worth it.... very confused :?

That's great news for those in Perth and South East Asia. Living in Singapore, it would have been much easier for me (and my family) to fly into Perth, but instead I bought tickets for the Brisbane concerts and have already booked flights. It's great to see they will listen to the fans and schedule a show, even as an afterthought.
