I just picked up the Marnie Stern and Warpaint albums from last year. Both seem pretty good! Not sure if they would break my top ten yet though.

    Hands down #1: National-High Violet
    2) Arcade Fire - Suburbs
    3) Gaslight Anthem - American Slang (not 59 sound album, but still very good!)

Hear alot about Deerhunter. Judging by the three albums I loved above, is this a band I should spend some time on? I got into National and Gaslight via this site and love them so any help would be great!

Stone Temple Pilots self-titled hands down for me. So glad they got their shit together and are making music again. Pumped for their next new album that they claim will be released in late 2011.

Yes, exactly that! Can't wait to hear them live next month!!

You might like them, although they're not quite as accessible as those three bands.

I'd listen to Microcastle first and then Halcyon Digest.

If you're not digging the first half of Microcastle, still make sure to give "Nothing Ever Happened" a listen. It's their most famous (and arguably best) track.
