    i think the difference there might be that usually if you are at the world cup or at the F1, there's more than one country competing and people use the flags to show which country they are supporting maybe?

    living in america and flying a flag outside your house isn't the same. it's not like another Country is right next door to your home and you're flying the flag to show where you come from. unless of course you're Sarah Palin and you can see Russia from your House.

    I've got those pesky Canadians to watch out for. :D They are a tricky bunch. They even managed to steal some land to the south :shock: . . . at least while I'm enjoying hockey at The Joe. ;)

    I refuse to be drawn into the debate as a whole, however, I will say this much: You can't put a "Merry Christmas" sign in your yard without getting sued by the worms in the ACLU. There's your example.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    this is silly...you're just making things up and you know it...

    What ever happened to being humble or quiet confidence?
    CONservative governMENt

    Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

    That was phased out in the late 90's along with showing respect and common manners.

    I think you know the otherwise to be true. The news reports are already coming in as they do annually about "Christmas" being censored because one person in town is "offended."

    To deny this happens is foolish.

    Those are national sporting events. If you go to most of these countries you'll be hard pressed to find a flag anywhere. Even here in China - which is another country that likes to promote nationalism, you only see the odd flag flying. I don't know of any other country in the world apart from the U.S where people fly flags from their houses - apart from during the World Cup.

    First off while living in Deutschland I seem remember quite a few flags flying.

    Second what is wrong with flying a flag? I fly one for the fact I served in the military. Is that wacky to you guys. I don't go around saying if you do not have one you are un=American. Are there people like that yeah, but there are wackos over the place.
