  • I like the new song but love their other songs, bring back the banjo. They were interviewed on Australian radio when they premiered the new song, the banjo was been put away for their new album. I'm sure these songs will grow on myself and other fans used to the banjo.

I definitely want to see them, but not gonna happen at one of the few Gentlemen stopovers. Are they going to tour for real?

I'm not sure this band deserves the all caps and that many exclamation marks.

Like the new single, I don't think it sounds anything like KOL. I think it sounds like theme, but with electric guitars now. Glad they are trying to grow and do new stuff.

Same. Musicians should do what excites them first and foremost. Couldn't listen to Babel II: Return To Babelyon...hahaha!! Didn't Metallica teach us a lesson with Unforgiven 2?

Never really paid much attention to them, but The Wolf is a great tune, great energy to it - I'm just watching the live version from SNL, sounds even better live.

i was very excited to see them playing in coney island but the tickets are $80. For a Tuesday show! They're playing a festival in Jersey but the tickets for that are $179. I don't know who is pricing this stuff but they're out of their minds.

They've just added a second show to the show I mentioned above. I really want to go see them. I really don't want to pay $80 for it.

Pay for parking and listen either on the boardwalk or the parking lot. Beer is cheaper in both places. I'd come and tailgate with you.

you're a fucking genius. I figured I'd keep an eye out on the ticket resale sites on the day of the show and see if tickets drop to a stomachable price - but if they DON'T I could just head out there and listen from the boardwalk.
Tailgating isn't something I'd be very good at, seeing as I neither drink alcohol nor drive anything.

I've had The Wolf on repeat pretty much all week, instant classic song for me, it's got a bit of a retro vibe to it which I love, and that chorus is a belter :)

I have a big beautiful truck that we can tailgate with and can stock full of ginger ale then. I'm in if you want to go hang. It's always fun meeting up with other PJ fans. If I'm right about stage layout then sound should travel towards the parking lot.

NOT a fan of the new sound... totally bummed... I wish I had heard it before I bought Gentleman of the Road tix... I have one extra to NJ w/camping, face of course, if anyone is looking. I'm hitting Salida still :)

got tix for the 1st Coney Island show

Like the new song, took a lil getting used to. Im sure their old sound will resurface again.

Struck out on tix to the Chicago show. Not too numbed though since I'm not really liking the new sound.
  • jonsey30jonsey30 Posts: 1,004
Ya know, it took some getting used to, but I'm liking their new sound more. Wolf is great, and Sname Eyes is on par too. Believe is my least favorite of the 3, but it's listenable. They were good on SNL too.

I think it's awesome too. I'm studying so I've only listened to it 3 times, and I cant say which are my favourite songs, but I'm loving it. I miss the banjo, but it will be back in the future.

I've listened a couple times and not really feeling it. Every song sounded the same. Maybe it will grow on me...

I listened to their club show in NYC this past Saturday that was broadcast on Xm. The new songs sounded better live than they do on the album. I sort of liken it to the Black Keys Turn Blue. I didn't like the album much at all, but when played live, it had the heavier, blues riffs in the songs. So hopefully the tour will be good.

I've enjoyed the new album after 2 listens, and glad they tried something new. And I agree that think the songs sound better live.

I was reluctant to listen to it after "believe" was released, but picked it up anyway. Its actually a really good album with great songs. Still not a fan of believe though, not sure why that was their first single.
