beardfest would be a dream come true.

the phoenix foundation - they have 2 full lovely beards on sam and luke
liam finn - his beard has birds in it
lawrence arabia - a lovely blonde beard!
mike mccready can regrow his scruff and come along

    and ed. i guess.

who else is beardy enough for this challenge?
    I have a beard but:

    1) It, and my hair, are coming off in two months for charity; and
    2) I haven't been in a band for nearly 10 years

    Oh well... :)

I am no longer reading any threads about the aussie concerts - those setlist threads are gonna kill us when they come out

I still don't understand, but (and I am saying this in all honesty) I am stoked that at least the people there (and rich enough to travel there from here) will get some!

Yeah I'm like that, But i wont be able to resist reading the setlists hahaha

i'm not reading about anything aussie tour related either. i'm still miffed, but i'm focusing my attention on the qotsa show coming up. ed hasn't had his music played in this house for a while.. it's been all about the ginger giant.
YES! GINGER GIANT!! Cant wait, I'm so excited. I heard a rumour that there might be a signing session in Real Groovy Auckland so I'll be there babbling like a fool if that happens.

We were on the coromandel for a stag weekend. Unfortunately, all the roads flooded and the creek we had to cross to get to the property became a torrent, washed away leaving us stranded in the house all weekend.

    That meant:
    a) We couldn't go out at all and nearly ran out of booze
    b) The strippers couldn't get to us
    c) We had to go home without even going to the beach!

So, not a disaster but not quite according to plan.

    Bummer!! No booze  lol
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D

Honestly, I have no idea. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now it's only a couple of months away and it's getting a bit too "real"...

Oh, you meant which charity? It's Shave for a Cure, which is the signature fundraising event for the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation. Here's the link to my event. Please give generously... :D

haha probably have seen you then. I usually have weird colored hair at concerts. I think I was the only person with bright blue hair at Metallica. And if you saw two girls in bright pink Dave Grohl (davy Grohlton) shirts with a huge banner saying "OUR GOAL, MEET GROHL", that was me. I usually do something crazy at concerts.

Kind of rings a bell... think I remember seeing him once.

The Dave Grohl one got alot of attention, people wanting to take pictures of it and stuff. My mum wore it as a cape after the show & these wasted dudes were going "OMG ITS AN ANGEL"

I know! The USD$165 = $215 didn't seem TOO bad, but then they slapped an extra $90odd bucks on top of it which prevented the pure impulse buy. Now I'm going to hold off and see if it's cheaper anywhere locally or online, but I don't reckon it will be...

And I thought the Ten box set was bad. That one cost USD$190 all up from the 10C. This one's gonna end up being USD$237! Over NZD$300. I hate myself for having to buy this thing...

  • Nope. As much as I want to, I won't. I'm a student and can't afford that kind of dough. Besides, if I had that kind of dough I would have bought myself a ticket to EV show in Aussietr0n. Also I'm more interested in the Vs and Vitalogy vinyls than all the bells and whistles, and I'm sure I could score a copy of those for less than 300 bucks. :ugeek:

i do really really want it because i have the deluxe ten, but things have changed in 2 years for me financially and that shipping may be what kills it for me. that said, will be waiting with eyes peeled to see if RG gets them like they did the 10 redux. they still end up costing 300 bucks though.

ugh. why the fuck is shipping so heinous? can't ed bring some over next month? oh wait. he's not coming.

Because it is the last country on Earth. Nobody actually knows where it is, or how to get here.

    Just guessing.

The shipping isn't a rip off at least. I guess that's just what it costs to send things that far. I'm thinking about getting it sent to my friend in San Fran. If I can get there sometime (maybe around this PJ weekend thing) then it'll save me $100!

    :|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|

anyone got any ideas how I'm going to handle when the aussie tour kicks off?

How bout I lock myself in my room and listen to Binaural on vinyl through headphones over and over?

(If Ed plays Of The Girl I don't wanna know, understand?)

better not lock myself anywhere, the kids might riot and eat all the cocoa puffs at once

FUCK! I'm getting real gutted bout it now! Imagining how excited I'd be if he was coming over. And I keep thinking he's going to be a surprise guest at the blues fest (grassroots)....reminiscent of the time I was sure he was going to pop out at the 2nd SWC. Eddie! I'm sure you read all these threads avidly! Look dude it's fine, just pop over at the end of your tour, we'll sort the venue by then, something small will be fine, just fine

    I'll be fine, right?!

i haven't visited the aus threads in a while. i'll just continue not to read anything about it and hope people don't try to force it on us.

I'm not even going to bother going anymore. It would be too painful for my fellow kiwi fans...
