everyone can come to my place. we'll make a stuffed eddie out of pantyhose, newspaper, some men's clothes, boots, a fluffy hat and a guitar. we'll sit him on my deck and we'll take turns flipping the vinyl.

Ha ha thanks I needed that actual LOL, not just a virtual LOL. Turns out I definitely cannot afford any trips to aussie next year either, and I have officially gone through all the stages of grieving and have finally settled on (resentful)acceptance, he's not coming, still loves us, just not as much as he loves the aussies, hey wait, that's not right....
Why I let myself get so excited when there was no hint of NZ getting anything, ever....

If anyone wins lotto and wants to take all kiwi 10c members to a show, hell, I"m in

he likes us as people but he doesn't love us and he certainly isn't ready to make a commitment. i think he just wants to be friends. but not good friends. friends of friends.

I think i have grieved too haha. Its been a week now. In reality, Iv been through so much in my life that this, is nothing. And i'm already planning what I can do to make up for it. ROAD TRIP to get a TATTOO

And yes I'm sure Eddie still loves us, I still love him, I may consider letting him out of the naughty chair soon

He should just know that next time he does come here, He'll get a bit of a growling :D

Thats the last time I listen to rumours. Same thing happened when Soundgarden where rumoured to play BDO, I was gutted when it was announced. And I missed out on seeing my guitar god Slash coz he only played Taranaki.

BUT, I am SO THANKFUL that Metallica came here, I got to see my other guitar god, (Kirk)
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D

dya know who i haven't seen in ages? neil finn. i mean, apart from his guest appearance last year. last time i saw that guy play live and solo stuff would have been 7 worlds collide. i've seen the finn brothers a couple of times since and crowded house, but... i could really go for a good old fashioned serving of mr finn. mmmm. playing loose tongue. yes. and sinner.

    damn i love neil finn.

i can't believe chugg's shennanigannery. and why no apology for the nz fans who just got no nothing.

Crowded House are playing this coming February....but yea, I hear you on the Neil Finn

Last I saw him was the second 7 worlds collide, what a random concert that was, still fun and all but I kept thinking Eddie was gonna jump out from the shadows of the stage with a half empty bottle of red wine yelling "surprise Tope!"...

and I spent the most of the concert looking at the guy in front of me's back and next to Murray, The Red Wiggle. He is very tall. Got a much better view than me

We are now moving on to what is known as live-music therapy. We will survive no Eddie-solo concerts. We have our own concerts to be keeping us busy...right? I'll tell you what is not helping, and that is watching this berlin concert dvd live footage thingy.... NOt HElping

it's fuckin cool tho. I keep looking at Boom, he really does look like one of my Uncles from up on the Marae. He should be our go-to man

oooh the therapy is working, I'm getting to the bottom of things a bit more, I guess I always thought that Ed and the whole band had an affinity for NZ, but I guess they just don't. Or maybe they do, maybe Ed does, but his schedule just can't fit in one more concert...But, you know, I bet he pops over here for a holiday and to see the other Uncle Neil....look out for him at the pub

ahhh feels good to ramble nonsensical pearl jam whims

now they're playing bloody push me pull me in berlin?!?!

that's what bazzer said.. that's what hurts. we thought we were special. but we're not. we're just that little country near australia that neil's from. what did ed say in auckland last year? about always having a lot of friends from nz? blah!

there's nothing coming up for me on the concert front so i'm screwed. i usually have to go by myself anyway. i need new friends.

also hear you on the 7wc OMG IS ED GONNA BE THERE thing... but mine is different.

we knew about the possibility of 7WC 1 containing some hot ed action but it hadn't been announced. meanwhile neil was doing the orientation week tour for all the unis and he had a different band for each night. wires got crossed and it was suggested that the different band for every night would have a different rockstar import each night.

that rumour got shunted out of the way once talk of the actual 7WC came up, but my god that didn't stop people at the shows from staring at the wings, wondering....

    hoping...

yea we're a hopeful bunch, that's what got us into this fuckin Ed solo mess in the first place!!

I agree, South Island has had THE SHITTEST year. We all feel your pain down there. You needs an Ed Ved concert, yes?

I'd be there quicker than you can say my-best-mate-lives-in-waimate

now they're onto Johnny Guitar in berlin. I can play JG on the guitar. Accoustic even. I'm sure it is a sight to behold ;)

(really shouldn't be watching live footage when I'm still feeling the burn of no concerts)

nah Ms Pony there must be some good gigs in Wellytown over the summer, surely? Lots of kiwi bands doing the rounds....shall we just pack up our bundles and go see Blondie? or I heard a rumour of Joe Cocker, fuck I"d looove to see him (i'm deadly serious in case someone thinks i'm being sarcastic, the album "happy" is leg-en-dary)

    can't buy what I want because it's free....right?

liam finn must be due a tour soon. he hasn't since barb played the liam and ej are having a baby tour.

Iv almost finished sulking about Ed. Give me a few more days, the perfect cure would be a concert to look foward too. Even a gig, but thats very unlikely seeing as Kaitaia dosent even have a music venue anymore, so it has to be something worth driving 6 hours to auckland for. I just NEED a concert so bad, I'm getting worried because I know Foo Fighters will probably come here on there next tour but that will be probably a year or more away. HOW WILL I SURVIVE WITHOUT A CONCERT?!
Slash promised he was coming back here but his tour scedule looks pretty full and theres no NZ dates on it :(

Joe Cocker is touring with George Thorogood but they're only playing in Napier and Waipara as far as I know.

i wish i had friends who loved live music. tonight lawrence arabia is playing and he is fucking dreamy. but work nights aren't good nights for concerts if you hope to survive the next day. i also wouldn't mind seeing hollie smith, but i only know a couple of songs.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the U2 gig, and how it actually helped ease my live-music cravings. True! It really did. I bet Kaitaia gets about as much live music as Dargaville does ;) I kid you not, our local DJ's name is DJ Jandal, need I say more?

I am going to go and see Katchafire + Blackseeds, then have BDO. I'm really looking forward to BDO this year, not least cause Iggy and the Stooges are headlining, they are some legends that I definitely want to cross off my 'legends I have seen live' list. A good BDO will cure anyones live-music withdrawals!

Still not a Eddie Vedder concert though is it. Especially not a 1500 people Eddie Vedder concert. How fuckin amazing would that be?? sigh

Dj Jandal? Thats so lame hahaha. Kaitaia is SOO boring, we dont even have a movie theatre!

Hmm.. no its not.. but I'm sure BDO will be cool. I'm not going though.
Concert announced today, Stone Temple Pilots... Hmmmm might have to think about that, I do like them its just that Scott Weiland creeps me out a bit haha
