i tried to get samuel and julia deans to play good woman when they did the cook strait social club tour with barry saunders. i figured if i couldn't see my favourite dude and chick do it proper-like, then my favourite kiwis dude and chick singers would be fucking choice.

alas, that night they didn't play it. my friend yelled out " PLAY GOOD WOMAN!" at julia and she said they'd been listening to cat power in the car but had "forgotten" to learn that song. but then she came over to us and sang the intro to "the greatest" and all was forgiven.

    one day.

    one day.

who, in their right minds, could possibly resist such an invitation??

I am no longer reading any threads about the aussie concerts - those setlist threads are gonna kill us when they come out

I still don't understand, but (and I am saying this in all honesty) I am stoked that at least the people there (and rich enough to travel there from here) will get some!

we shall get some too one day

    and until then.....

    BEARDFEST 2011!

beardfest would be a dream come true.

the phoenix foundation - they have 2 full lovely beards on sam and luke
liam finn - his beard has birds in it
lawrence arabia - a lovely blonde beard!
mike mccready can regrow his scruff and come along

    and ed. i guess.

who else is beardy enough for this challenge?

i'm not reading about anything aussie tour related either. i'm still miffed, but i'm focusing my attention on the qotsa show coming up. ed hasn't had his music played in this house for a while.. it's been all about the ginger giant.

    I have a beard but:

    1) It, and my hair, are coming off in two months for charity; and
    2) I haven't been in a band for nearly 10 years

    Oh well... :)

did any one here get affected by the cyclone?

We got major flooding and my roof leaked and flooded my bedroom

heres a photo I took from inside my dads 4 wheel drive, of the bottom of our road. We were actually on a road... dosent look like it though http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- ... 7618_n.jpg
We were on the coromandel for a stag weekend. Unfortunately, all the roads flooded and the creek we had to cross to get to the property became a torrent, washed away leaving us stranded in the house all weekend.

    That meant:
    a) We couldn't go out at all and nearly ran out of booze
    b) The strippers couldn't get to us
    c) We had to go home without even going to the beach!

So, not a disaster but not quite according to plan.

YES! GINGER GIANT!! Cant wait, I'm so excited. I heard a rumour that there might be a signing session in Real Groovy Auckland so I'll be there babbling like a fool if that happens.

Honestly, I have no idea. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now it's only a couple of months away and it's getting a bit too "real"...

Oh, you meant which charity? It's Shave for a Cure, which is the signature fundraising event for the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation. Here's the link to my event. Please give generously... :D

  • I'm glad you're at least shaving all of that hair for a good cause. I have shaved my hair twice now and couldn't even get my friends to pay for the shave...
