I'd go see Liam if I was in Auckland. But.. i'm not..

Anyway, how is everybody? I havent posted on here for a while..
Cool pic with Josh. Go Rush Hour 3!

I wish I could've made it to RG, but work does get in the way sometimes. It's what keeps me in this lavish lifestyle, travelling the world for music etc etc, so I can't complain ;)

haha thanks. Yeah he wouldnt stop going on about his rush hour shirt. He was making lots of rude jokes about it at the press conference. Man RG was amazing, my mum got selected to ask a question in it which totally spun me & her out. Very tiring day though, I lined up for the signing for about 4 hours then waited at Logan Campbell from 2:30

And he played a "secret" show the night before too. Did you go last night? They were great! It only takes about 100 people I reckon, so it's not a big venue. The band had to split over two stages!

Edit: OK, I saw in another thread you did go. Did I see you there? I don't know what you look like, I hope you weren't in that group that came and stood right in between my friends and I when there was still quite a bit of room around!

Gidday. Yep I sure was there & I'm going tonight too!! YAY! I reckon it's well less than 100 people, like maybe 80 max. Very cool. & yeah I heard Liam say about the 'secret gig' the night before as well.

Lucky. I still regret the time I threw back 2nd row tickets to Lionel Richie playing on my anniversary! WTF? How romantic would that have been? Hello?

it really is balls that literally the only concert i have on the horizon is one i don't even want to go to. it'll be like "HURRY UP AND FUCKING GET THIS OVER WITH"

i'm going into hibernation until the aussie tour is over.

I wish more good bands/artists come to NZ

The good thing is that Foo Fighters are putting out their new album soon and they are like the only band that have NEVER missed New Zealand off a tour, they always come here. So I'm looking forward to that

You poor bloody thing. Let's hope you get someone good soon. Better than Lionel Ritchie, I'd be pissed off if he was all that was around my neck of the woods, too. Sorry to hear you're missing out on Eddie. It's shit when you can't afford something that you really want to do (I've had that a lot my life too). On another note, glad you don't live in Christchurch. A friend of mine and I were hoping you were all right, and we since found out you live in Wellington so at least you didn't cop the earthquake. Don't blame you for feeling glum, what with the earthquake in your country and not being able to see Ed hope someone good comes out who you want to see. Life can be cruel sometimes.;)

uhhh ... off topic a bit but i was talking with a guy from hawkes bay when i was in picton and he's pretty certain a big quake is gonna hit the north end of the south island in june ... i think he said some people predicted the one in christchurch and that those same people said there will be a huge one in malborough sounds ...

having been in wellington for the quake that hit a few weeks ago - i would take that under advisement ...
  • doomponydoompony Wellington, NZ Posts: 4,501
scaremongering. ken ring says he predicted the chch earthquake and that we're all going to die this sunday (though apparently 3 days either side as well, so i could die today, tomorrow, sunday, or early next week).

but he didn't predict the japanese earthquake.

take it with a grain of salt. the media hate these people but love the scary boogeyman earthquake stories.
  • doomponydoompony Wellington, NZ Posts: 4,501
and the earthquakes in wellington a couple of weeks ago were normal wellington shakes. the scientists say we actually had more/bigger quakes in the weeks leading up to the chch earthquake than we have after, but because we're so paranoid and hyperaware, we felt the recent ones.

i wake up if the wind rattles my windows a little now, but i never used to. it's just the current state of panic.

    1 last thing

the wellington tremors - the reason a lot of people were freaked out by those is because we can sometimes feel the earthquakes that are centred in the south. we felt the big chch one. so when a lot of us felt those shakes, instead of our normal reaction of "... is that it? good. mmm tv" it was "... shit... shit... if we felt that, what the hell has happened in chch?"

yeah ... i thought it was the wind during that earthquake a few weeks ago ... i hate to do the fearmongering thing but i wouldn't be able to live with myself if a really massive one hit and i didn't at least pass on what i was told ...

at least the main part of the city should be protected if an earthquake were to happen and an ensuing tsunami occurred ...
  • doomponydoompony Wellington, NZ Posts: 4,501
yeah the southern coast would be toast, but the harbour is so far inland that some say a tsunami wouldn't get to the city. that said, never say never with mother nature.

you'll be pleased to know that

    1. lionel richie was fucking choice

    and

    2. the moon man's predictions that another huge earthquake would kill us all in march was... nothing.

I am Duska and I approve this message.

I seem to recall EV saying that they will be back in "one year, two years, not eleven"

It's been 3.5 & they haven't indicated any further international tour. Though if they release that album any time soon how sweet would it be for them to come back this summer? :D
